If you had to resume within a few minutes of when you logged in and you were put back at exactly the same progress/durability/CP as when you were disconnected (using the same materials), I don't see the potential for exploitation.

This, if they paused the state when you logged off, you can't exploit it.
Since if your synth was messed up, it would still be messed up.If it reset the synth it would be an issue, but that's not what we're asking for!
No one ever sees the potential for exploitation until it happens. Not being rude to you in particular, just sayin...
I never thought it would be possible to instantly teleport to mining nodes but botters found a way to script that.
Although it may be possible, I would think it would be much harder to make a hack where it restores say full CP for example than simply moving character to a specific coordinate. Either way RMT's will always try to find a way to cheat, if players tries to cheat with something like this it will be easy to detect on the log and end up being banned quickly imo.
You make a good point, however I was thinking more along the lines of them being able to exploit their mats back on a failed attempt at getting quality to 100%, to effectively get unlimited tries on a single craft until they hit 2 excellents and get their 100% 2star item. I agree that restoring full CP mid-craft would be a tough thing to accomplish, but these guys seem to dedicate large portions of their lives to figuring out ways to extort games. At this point, I wouldn't put anything past themAlthough it may be possible, I would think it would be much harder to make a hack where it restores say full CP for example than simply moving character to a specific coordinate. I can't help but assume you are ignorant as to the technical aspects involved in an MMO functioning. There's a dozen ways this could be exploited, ranging from falsifying packets to make it appear that they had just disconnected in the middle of a craft when in fact they may of not or instantly upon relogging having an item auto-crafted to HQ with more than enough durability points remaining and no materials having to even be used. You think those node to node teleporting botter people are able to do the kind of cheating they do because SE intended it?
Seems like one of us is.
If someone had the ability to alter durability, etc in the middle of a craft, then there's no reason why they would limit their cheating to interrupted synths.
AFAIK, all the information on progress of a synth is stored server-side, not client-side. It's therefore very difficult to "hack" that information. The client tells the server what actions the player has taken and the server reports back with the results, which the client then displays on the screen.
Compare that to teleportation, where the client tells the server where the player is located----it's a very different situation.
