"Resume" button for interrupted synths

I'm begging you. It's nice that we don't always lose our materials, but this has to be the most frustrating part of the game I've encountered. (especially after my internet turning into swiss cheese)

If you D/C during a boss, you, and possibly your entire team, dies. Just some gear damage. If you D/C during a levequest, you might die, but the leve will still be there. At worst, you lose the allowance and can immediately retry. But when crafting... you could potentially lose a lot of gil. I haven't been this frustrated with FFXIV since 1.0, when D/Cing would fail your leve.

Maybe it's a memory issue. Maybe they don't want thousands of people suspending synths and running around. In that case, give me an ultimatum upon being interrupted or logging back in.

Abandoning would give you the same results we have now. Continuing would give you the same Durability, Progress, CP, and buffs that you had beforehand. Can anybody see any issues with that?

agreeing with this, it's nice to have options to completely abandon what you were doing because you changed your mind, or if you just wanna "pause" it because you wanted to help out someone and you'll get back to it or for any reason.

I don't mind so much if i'm crafting for myself, but i'm afraid to craft for friends and getting dc and losing their mats...

I've been Error 90k'ed out while doing crafting 3 consecutive days, and lost HQ mats. Sure, sure, its only low level stuff...for now. Let's nip it in the bud before someone loses something truly expensive.

yea i got dc'ed and lost the mats for craft i did couple time and if i lost that when i was doing a 2 star recipe i would rage like no tomorrow. resume button plox

The development team understands it can be discouraging when materials are lost when disconnecting during crafting and they would like to do something about this.

If we were to implement an "resume crafting" feature after a disconnection occurs, there are a few things that must be taken into consideration. It is difficult to confirm whether or not the disconnection is due to a connection/technical issue or if it was done intentionally. There is also the possibility that this system could be exploited so we must be very careful during the planning phase.

While considering the above, the development team would like to look into this further, but they are not currently planning a resume after disconnect type of feature.

Intentional disconnects cannot allow any benefit if the progress is resumed. The only real issue is exploiting a potential bug. Just save synthesis progress and stats after each step and you're done -- pause and resume any time. As long as you save stats (which you have to do as a result of Inner Quiet), you could never exploit it by switching foods between disconnects.

Still, it's worth noting that you're dealing with an issue a lot more than discouraging when you get disconnected making a gryphonskin ring and lose 1 million gil worth of mats. I've seen it happen to people. Unless you're incredibly wealthy, you can't afford to just shrug that off. This means crafters can't afford to use others' mats when crafting expensive items unless they are terribly wealthy already. 90k monster eats the mats, and now you as a crafter owe the client half a million gil for the stuff you took from them.

I keep getting windows errors every now and then... Sometimes i log in for the first time, and 2 minutes later i get a stupid windows error.
This makes my FFXIV freeze and its shut down. I need to fully launch it again, reconnect, etc. And i been losing alot of mats from crafts bc of this, but also being disconnected during dungeon bosses, etc.
This is getting really frustrating, and if i cannot find a solution for this untill the end of my subscription (i paid 30 days), i wont pay again untill i get better news about this.
I'm not the only one with this error, so its totally not my end's fault.

Please look into this. I've disconnected a few times while crafting which wasn't a big deal since i lost low end mats. But , this is why I'm afraid to craft let's say a Vanya Robe since it's days of farming down the drain if a disconnect occurs.

My idea would be when logged back in, your still in crafting mode with the same durability, CP, and same active crafting buffs. This way it can't be exploited since it's just as if you didn't disconnect.

If the resume button is there its more prone to exploits.
