Rerolling on Japanese server to avoid DF grief - does it happen there too?

After reading all of the issues people have had, and seeing terrible things on the official forums and reddit, I totally dread entering any dungeon via duty finder. Since this character is still so low level, I am asking anyone with characters on the Japanese servers if the immature, selfish, and griefing seen and complained about on the NA/EU servers is present via the duty finder within the Japanese server group?

I played FFXI for many years and had no ping issues, and would think it wouldn't be an issue playing on a Japanese server from the US. Any help would be appreciated!

well, im guessing the biggest issue would be that japanese servers have japanese language (quest text etc) so if you can understand japanese language then there shouldnt be a prob! this goes for chat chans too as im guessing it will 90% be in japanese language?

As for the DF, ive never had any issues with it (im L35 WM atm).. why not just roll a char on that server & give it a go ?

I have a character on the Japanese servers and everything is in English. They Japanese don't like to talk much and when they do most of it is in Japanese.

I'm like 90% sure language is based off of client settings. JP servers are just JP servers.

I imagine that most people get through raids without issues (I have - and I've apparently set myself up for it by playing as a tank!), it's just that people only comment when they've had a bad experience. There must be thousands of raids done every day, with only a handful of complaints making it through to the forums.

I'd recommend joining a casual linkshell if you're nervous - or trying to make friends in the field before attempting any raids.

Plus doesn't the DF harvest players from all servers?

It's not nearly as bad as people make it out to be, not even close. If there's anything that the NA community is good at, it's crying about absolutely everything.

during last night maintenance, I went to chocobo server (JP) & it was a very quiet & pleasant experience. NO GOLDSPAMMERS <3

Lol. You know, you could only Tick Japanese or "J" on the DF and not reroll. o-o
That way you're paired up with just them I guess.
Duty Finder only has grievers because they are tools and then they think they can
bash you because you won't see them again. Just stay on your server, make friends and so on
and do what I advised above, should be fine. Either tick or play with your FC.
It's better than going to a server that probably has
barely ENG players.

Do less reading and more playing.

I juust started like 4 days ago. Had maybe one person leave DF in the middle and we couldnt finish the last boss (sastasha maybe).

And im on the new Mateus server. RNG is RNG especially when you are being randomly grouped. I say stay where you are and look for a good guild with players your level, solves all problems.

Come to Durandal (JP/Legacy) it's fun there and if you want a quiet run you can tick the J box, a noisy run the E box or a weird time the other two. I'll hook you up with an (English speaking) LS and FC so you'll have people to do dungeons with and stuff rather than relying on just 3 other DF peoples. If you do, send me a /tell if I'm on.

I've had only 1 issue with DF in all my time and that was with an annoying healer.
