As far as crafting classes go....eventually, we're all going to be on equal footing and things miiiiiight get a bit bland.
So, what do you guys think about the recipes as rare drops in dungeons later on?
Unfair? Good idea? GTFO Neverhood?

I think that's a great idea.
I'm not at endgame (not even cloosseee) but what ive read on the forums is that there's really no point in crafting high level gear since dungeon drops are better. Perhaps if maybe a boss drops a "rare ingredient" and someone can loot the recipe from a chest by chance and then the crafter could either buy the "rare ingredient" or be the one that loots it from the boss and makes a really powerful piece of gear or accessory that's better than whats gotten through dungeons. I think that would be fun, and I've seen it in other games. It'll help money go to/from crafters to disciples of war or magic instead of crafter to crafter because that seems like what it's like now.
It worked in EvE...although I'm not sure if that's how it STILL works in EvE considering I stopped playing years ago. But certain equipment could only be made by that game's crafters once the recipe was found AND the crafter was skilled enough to manufacture it.
I'd really like to see something similar implemented here.
All the faction bpc's that used to be drop are now in Pirate LP stores. They are a monopoly for the people who control those parts of null. And to this day a lot of people don't like the fact that a faction drop/ LP reward trumps player driven T2.It worked in EvE...although I'm not sure if that's how it STILL works in EvE considering I stopped playing years ago. For here I'd rather keep crafting, crafting. The vintage system and the random levequest reward of a tattered or moth eaten part is where I would rather they go with rare stuff. Turning in gear to an NPC gives a motive to craft other than to stick on the market board and hope someone needs it. In a perfect FF14 I'd have a Leve to turn in two star gear to, with a vintage component as a possible reward but that system can't happen as long as we are forced to dungeon farm Potash and Coke the way it is now.
this is good idea. can sell it on few m on market board. like a lottery for a poor guy. and item craft out must atleast on par with i90lv item. like what diablo3 did.
The solution would be to make harder and harder recipes so you have to specialize gear or buy expensive sets for all crafts.
I think it'd be a pretty sweet to have recipes drop from dungeons. It'd be good incentive for us crafters to run older dungeons again just to get that recipe. Maybe even make it so the recipe drop is for rare weapons and armor, like the Foestriker's Set, or the Battlemage's set. Sometimes the boss won't drop the equipment, but instead the recipe for a piece of it.
Of course, for balance purposes, make it incredibly hard to make (ie, 500 of whatever shards your class uses, materials 10 levels above what you have, lower durability, incredibly high difficulty, etc.)
