Assuming you gather everything yourself. 47 shards and 15 ores at 20 seconds per node will require 310 seconds. There are 10 item to be synthesized, at an average of 6 sec each for quick synth for NQ item, that's 60 seconds. A total of 370 seconds is needed for a Kite Shield. This comes out to be about 5381 gil per hour. That's a lot of work for very little return.

I know. Don't you love how shards are 3:1 and take 75% of your game time to gather. It's almost like Alchemist was supposed to make them or something...
