Cheating ingame - Gathering jobs

So the last few days I have seen a fair few players appearing underground and teleporting between gathering nodes. Pretty easy to spot as you see flashes of gathering and no player, approach and look at the ground and you can see them

I've seen this as well. I've also noticed that they ALWAYS have stealth turned on(when they're not inside a rock or the ground), even when in areas where there are no hostile enemies around mining nodes.

I'm also curious as to whether they're all actual players or RMT related(athe names sometimes look like thought was put into them, but still appear as gibberish).

Aye, done my bit by reporting them for cheating, hopefully the STF will do their first sweep of the game soon and ban a load of accounts.

Never really understood the mentality behind buying a game then cheating, RMT I understand, appt they make money (surely be easier and more satisfying being a street sweeper or something)

Of course they are RMT related.

What you see here is auto bot miners. There are auto bot farmers. ( bots which kill monsters )

They take loot, mats to the market board and sell them.

Then, they use the gil got from the market board and sell them for real money.

Not all are RMTs. Some are actual players. I'm curious as to how many are real players, and how many are RMTs(and RMT gathers tend to wear starter gear still).

When I was playing GW2 eight months ago, it suffered of the same issue. There was a lot of cheaters/botters who gathered mineral nodes, plants and stuff. Everyday I wanted to farm those items with proper effort (as it was intended) and seeing such activities and being witness of ArenaNet not doing a thing about it, gave me one additional reason to quit the game. I hate cheaters, they spit over your time and effort and no, they are not smarter than me for using that crap. Such programs are easy to use. I worked on a private server as a security GM, so I had to test every cheating program in order to detect them in-game.

I expect the banhammer to fall heavy over their heads/accounts and track the gathered items to see if there was another account favored by such gathering.

Looking forward to these actual players soon becoming *former* actual players. They are probably already dead men walking and just don't realize it. 'Ware the ban hammer.

I'm starting to think SE doesn't care I reported a mining bot on 9/13 then again on 9/14 with 3 more of his friends when I seen all 4 of them just making the rounds instantly. Now its 12 days later and I see the first guy I reported again mining away in Easter Thanalan except he is lvl 31 now. If all he has done was mine crystals I'll let you do the math on how many he has. The biggest joke in this game to me is when you report someone and it says "a representative will review it shortly". I have 126 names on my blacklist I have only had to remove 3 that has said (deleted). If SE isn't going to put forth an effort why should we. Let the bots destroy the game until we all quit except for the ones buying gil, screw it why not.
