    Monster item drops are worthless, boring and uninteresting, they're only useful for crafting when a majority of players don't even do crafting 'coz it's boring and pointless. SE should take lessons from Tera, monsters drop dyes, crystals and mystery boxes that contains either money, equipment, scrolls, etc.

    Funny story about that - Mobs in XI did just that (no mystery boxes though) and mobs in XIV 1.x did too, including some decent crafted stuff, heck you could even turn fish into shards in 1.x!

    nop , in FFXI mobs droped some gear/spells too (i remember killing demons in Castle Zhvahl for white weapons and a chance at scrolls while looking for NMs)

    Self-sufficiency was easy to come by in TERA, and it wasn't good. It should be downright difficult to be self-sufficient. What you consider 'boring and pointless' is the lifeblood of the game to just as many people as combat is to you.

    Forcing people to craft to afford items that are NECESSARY in combat is garbage design no matter how you spin it.

    I can be fine with crafting being necessary for housing/aesthetics.


    I am not fine with ridiculous 52k Quicktongue materias pushing some relic costs to 160-170k while you keep losing 500 gil in teleports and repairs and outside of doing crafting/gathering/playing the market you have no way of covering your combat progress costs by doing what you actually like -- combat content.

    They should at least drop enough gill to keep up with repairs while fate grinding!
