Is there something wrong with the damage calculation?

This has happened to me multiple times, I will be hit for much less than my max hp and I will be one shotted from full health, it happened to me recently tonight but has happened quite frequently over the past few days. I have had other people say it has happened to them a few times but it doesn't seem like anyone has ever said anything about it.

Is there some sort of bug with damage calculation that causes you to get one shotted? Or is this a game mechanic thats meant to be in the game

happen to me once

I have 1000+ hp at that time, I've got hit for ~400 damage and I died

I look at the combat log and it's only that one shot

never seen it, what mobs are doing this? It Also could be lag and it missed a message. I noticed sometimes I hit more then what it states in the log.

I've had this happen as well, and ive seen it happen to party members during a lesser NM fight. where they get hit for 900 damage when they've got 1000+ health AND stoneskin running.

The only thing I've seen is similar but then after raise and going back to fight it shows a message of the rest of the hits + the little 3d text and then i realise its lag.

As far as I can tell, it has nothing to do with lag. My connection can be perfectly fine and I will get hit by a mob that is using a one hit attack. The only consistency I can find when this happens is the damage does around 3/5 of my max hp when it one shots me, its never more and never less. I will literally be at full hp, get attacked for a certain amount of damage, and it will one shot me. I always go back and check my battle log just to make sure I am not seeing things and it is only recording me as being attacked once for the same amount of damage I thought I saw pop up over my head just to make sure I didn't get hit multiple times. Anyways, I would like to see how many more people this has happened to.
