GC items. Worth it?

The game is trying to cater to three types of people:

Those who do not want to participate in dungeon raids or FATEs all the time will use crafted equipment.
Those who do not want to participate in dungeon raids, but do FATEs will use Grand Company and Crafted Equipment
Those who do want to participate in dungeon raids will use Dungeon Drops (and Darklight, relics, primal weapons, etc.)

And those who do all 3 (a lot of people) will lean towards the dungeon related drops. So all types of players are catered for. 'Hardcore' will go to dungeons, 'Medium/Light' core will lean towards Grand Company/Crafted, and pacifists will be Crafted :P

IMO
GC gear (wep) is a much better choice than farming Ifrit. For me, it was better than the weapons that I found while leveling, and I only did Ifrit/Garuda Hard twice/once. I then had time to do other stuff, Wanderer Palace, Amdapor Keep, leveling a DoL and so on.
I saw a lot of people complaining that they "farmed" Ifrit hard tens of times and they got no wep drop. Okay... it`s your choice / your time I guess.

about the GC items, is there anything i can do with them besides discard after i have something better ?
i know that things up to about 30 lvl can be turned back to GC for some seals but what about 41,44,50 weapons ?

I have returned my lv 50 weapon to my GC after I found a better one.
