Square Enix relying on fans to translate their communications to their customers. Another annoyance to add to the list.

lol They have been real good about getting translations done and posting them in the right area but this time for once they fell behind. Hope to hear from them soon.

I assume you want a translation to be in English? SE officially supports French and German languages, too.

Recently SE hasn't been posting official subtitled Letter LIVE videos, but I can imagine the translation teams were busy finishing the game for launch. There's also the issue that SE may not have secured rights to republish the video, with or without translation.

But I do agree with you in principle. A lot of info was announced during those sessions about upcoming content, and SE should promote that to their player base. I would at least expect the usual "Letter LIVE Q&A" forum posts (and SE may be working on it even as we type and read this.)

Personally, I think Yoshida has natural charm, candor and intelligence which shines brightly during these events. Reading even an excellent video transcript loses so much of this, so I don't mind the compromise of a Q&A summary. However, I do think that getting that man (and team) on-screen, with subtitles, is fun, informative, inclusive, and may even create fans for life.

Or... maybe it just takes people time to do it properly, proof it, approve it and post it?

Dont get me wrong. I know it takes a lot of time to translate and proof read stuff before releasing it. However if you look at Reinhart's translations during a Live Letter and compare them to the official translation we got 1½ months later. The difference seems to be minimal.
