Ultima Weapon part 2 is seriously one of the most fun fights I have in this game, and a great way to finish off a Praetorium run. It's got the best fight music in the game, and it's always fun to run around and play with him. But when you're done, it's not over. Out comes Lahabrea, and ... it's a joke. So anti-climactic.

On my last run, my FC and a few people pulled in-server and through the DF are finishing off a Ultima, and cutscene -- we load up, and Lahabrea's going at it. We had new people, so we were all waiting for their cutscenes to finish, but someone accidentally healed themselves, and started up Lahabrea. As you reappear where you were last standing while in cutscenes, this means Lahabrea will now notice you. But as it turns out, without a clock, you can autoattack him to death. So healing? almost unimportant. Get out of voidzones, then back to swinging your sticks or cudgels. Auto-regen can handle most damage he deals, and that means something.

Either remove Lahabrea, or beef him up. As it stands, this fight is nothing but an add to Ultima, in which case one should really be fighting him during Ultima part 2. While Ultima is charging up the nuke, Lahabrea spawns, and starts knocking people around. A nice measure to the clock. Take down UW in that time, and then finish off Lahabrea. So much better, so little of a let-down after UW.

Otherwise, try this out for yourselves: Just auto-attack him to death. That easy.

SPOILERS come on man not everyone has done it.... Also if you paid attention his role isnt done just like all previous ff bosses first time easy and as story progresses he becomes harder and harder... Pretty sure thats going on now

When I first ever did this mission I came up with a simple solution so I'm on the same page as you. This was my solution. Remove Lahabrea from ultima. Upon beating ultima and leaving the duty finder you enter an instance where you "accept" a quest to fight him one on one. It'd provide a much better conclusion because we get to go one on one with the Ascian who's been causing all of these problems (story wise.).

It's not meant to be hard. It's a battle that is there to wrap up the current storyline like the Cloud vs. Sephiroth one where you automatically use Omnislash for insta-win.

For all intents and purposes you should consider Ultima the final boss.

It is just a fight to finish the story, Ultima is the Final Boss. In the future the story will be continued with Lahabrea which you can clearly see in the final cutscene. Although since you are moaning about this I assume you just skip all cut scenes. Also SPOILERs >.>

For all intents and purposes you should consider Ultima the final boss.

Wouldn't it be quite the twist, that as the story continues on, that the actual real end all bad guy was yourself?

And the reason you didn't know it was you, was due to The Echo creating a residual personality alongside the original personality.

Concluding in a fight against yourself with all your stats, gear, and skills, that would literally require you to out skill yourself in order to win.

Oh my what a twist that would be.

Square has a very, very annoying habit of doing this. In FFVII and X they were just interactive endings, but in XIII the final form was a very, very weak boss. Lahabrea in 14 is also a very, very weak boss. I don't know anyone who likes pushover final bosses like this and I wish they would cut it out.

Labhrea current form is not ARR final boss he is the first miniboss in the ARR story ark. A minion to the one true god Z------- plus its an mmo there is no final boss expecially at launch. In wow it takes 1.5-2 years of updates and story till you fight the final boss all bosses are minibosses leading up to final confrontation for the arc, this arc just commenced.
