I'd shoot upgrading your PSU to at least 6 if not 800w for future proofing, always better to have more than less when you really need it. I have an 800w in mine, because I plan to SLI in the future. However, your mobo doesn't really have the slots needed to run 2 cards so the 800w purchase would be for this, and your next tower if and when you build another one.

Gonzo is talking about the GTX 660 and it is a great card, you will have little to zero issues running any recent game on that.

edit: i really hope you didn't pay $1600 for that man

Great thanks again Radunas, think that is what I will work on - a 800w PSU & the GTX660 - then I will transfer them to a new tower when I build ... As long as this wont cause any damage to the mobo (being a mini ITX system)

Nope, should be all good to go there.

ouch not really haha. Sorry man.. give someone who knows what they are doing a $1,400 budget at newegg.com and your jaw would drop. I spent my tax refund (800 or less, i forgot) on my tower which has:

MSI 990FXA-GD80 mobo, AMD FX-4170 Quad CPU, 800W PSU, 16GB RAM @ 1866, ASUS GTX 550ti, 1TB HD, and it eats up most things I throw at it.

The way I built it, I plan on getting the latest and greatest AMD proc when I upgrade it (most likely 8 core+), 2 high end nvidia cards in SLI, water cooling, 32GB RAM, moar Terabytes of storage and definitely some SSD action for my OS and some games.

Yep newegg.com and tigerdirect.com (sometimes different components are cheaper here, like Hard drives) are where I shop. I'm CompTIA A+ cert'd so if you happen to be in Arizona I could help you. haha. If not just find a fellow gamer nerd that builds custom PCs and hit them up for their services!

Seriously guys - can I just say - this is only my second post but I am really surprised at the amount of support and assistance you guys have provided. Seriously been absolutely awesome.

Now - Ima go hit up newegg and tigerdirect and see what its gonna cost me in parts for a new build.... hmmmm.... maybe I can sell this one to my younger brother.... hehe.

Radunas - is there a particular mobo on the market today which you would recommend? sufficient to run what I need now with capabilities for upgrade down the track... haha been a while since I've built and technology is changing that quick these days....

No prob man, I'm just bored at work, and always want to permeate the 'help your fellow gamers' attitude, especially with a brand new game with tons of issues! I want to give a good image of the type of people that play, in a forum where most people come to piss and moan. (not you )

Personally, the way I shop newegg is:

Processor I want, see what slot it is (AM3+/whatever), then go for the mobo, taking into consideration what video card i want to put in there and make sure it is compatable, then throw some RAM (also checking mobo specs for compatabilities with speeds/size), pick your HD, DVD burner and wrap it in a nice affordable case with multiple cooling options and ability to access the BACK of the mobo to add water cooling either on the first build or the 2nd upgrade.

And truly, most of my decisions are made from all of the customer reviews on newegg's product pages. They are the best way to survey whatever product you're looking at for innate issues (high level of DoAs), general usage (gaming/media/office), and user experience/rating.

Amazon is cool too, but I like to buy my tech from tech sites, not a walmart of the internet. Also, returns and RMAs are more efficient through a company that has more direct ties to the manufacturer than a site like amazon. But, I've never purchased products from them for my personal PC parts so I can't speak directly to that process.

Don't forget to include Amazon in there as well, just make sure when you search on amazon to check the box that says "New"

Best thing to do if you are planning to do a full upgrade, don't do it right now. With black friday and cyber monday right around the corner i'd say just stick it out for now, and wait until then. That's what I'm doing.
