    Please fix materia and help crafting at the same time.

    All they need to do to fix materia is to change the caps. I can understand not wanting people slotting +8 VIT into every materia slot, but it would be nice if they could use at least 1. Right now materia is useless because the item already starts at cap on the good stats. This would also help make the crafting gear more desirable if say Heavy darklight armor could have +8 Str and +8 Vit TOTAL. Please raise the materia cap on items. I am not saying remove it, just raise it please.

    Seriously Materia caps need adjusting.

    I just started to try and get my gear melded and was psyched to do so but now I have realized that the materia system is crap. Almost every materia I have wanted to add into my weapons or armor cant or if I do instead of what it should give it, it will only give +1. WTF is the point of high tier materia if you cant use it to its full potential?

    Oh you can put high tier materia on your items. Just not any main stats or any stat already on the item. It would be nice if we could add at least a little STR and VIT to tank items, or some INT to BLM items. as it stands right now no one is going to use the basic stat materia. Fixing this would also make crafted gear and materia more desirable.

    I doubt they will increase the caps but it would definitely make crafting and materia better if they were removed, especially on the end game gear.

    Removing the stats caps completely would make crafted gear too powerful unless the basic stat materia is lowered. Being able to double the vitality that heavy darksteel gives would make it too powerful for example. I do not think being able to add 4 on gloves and 6 or 8 on armor and flanchards would make overpowered.
