Anyway, I am an advocate for allowing us to repeat the quests with every class. Even, say, only the ones starting at level 15. It's not even faster than FATE-grinding, it's just marginally more interesting.
I also think we should be given incentives or dailies to run all of the dungeons at max level. I think a drought is possible, but also, it would be nice to have other ways to earn Tomes. Or some other currency?
I am of the opinion that the dungeons, quests, environments, towns, etc, are nice enough to warrant us repeating them. Even if they're the same quests, 9 times over, I feel like a great many of us would enjoy it.

Yes, there is a lack of quests. Those of us especially who played XI for years are all too bored of the grinding in FF online titles. Personally I liked the leveling in XI because it made your party a group of its own and normal mobs yielded enough exp (sorta...) to level whereas fate grinds tend to be just like an extreme cluster of lag..

I switched from PS3 to PC and can confirm it is a PS3 problem. I don't think the PS3 can handle the number of polygons in some fates and as a result the monsters do not spawn. An example is Coerthas Central Highlands: Svara's Fate.
On PS3 I was lucky if I could see Svara's now on PC I have no issues at all.

Fate/dungeon grinding should not be the leveling path. As it presently stands, the game seems to largely end at about 35, and you're just screwing with us to, in large portion, painfully grind out the last 15 levels if we want to see the end of the main story.
    This is my thoughts too.

Maybe it is because of what we are used to. I come from EverQuest2 where there are literally thousands of quests (over 4k last I remember) so there is always something to do. Quests from NPCs, dropped items, things clicked on ...

I have done every quest, almost done the hunting log ... and I still had to start grinding exp from level 42 onward to get to the next level so stuff opens up (which in itself is a really stupid idea)

Agree on this. The game needs improvement in zone design and more quests.
Yesterday I had to grind 3/4 level until 44 to do mainquest content (Garuda). I've been doing that the last 5 levels and it'll be worst in the next levels to come. Devs, please take a serious look at this!

Wait till you want to level an additional job, then the real misery and frustration starts. I really struggle to understand how S-E thought it was acceptable to provide such pitiful ways to level additional jobs outside of chasing FATEs around a zone and spamming Flash/random attack key#3.

Agree, I'm now at lvl 47 and I'm completing my hunting log as a last resort. As much, I'll achieve half a level with this, then return to some Aurum Vale runs, fates and leves. Being the thing as it is, I don't plan any other extra job than Scholar (I'm Summoner), and it comes "free" with Arcanist. I hope 2.1 will come with some extra cookies to level additional jobs.
Edito: yes, my avatar says my main job is conjurer but it isn't I started conjurer to get my start in Gridania for roleplaying.

From what I've seen and read, granted that I haven't gotten to 50 with my first job so my thinking may very well change, but it seems that for the first runthrough there seems to be just enough quests to get you there, if you can find them. The quest hubs are very sporatic and you are not directed to them, except perhaps by the main questline, but if you are in between, when the quests run out the game doesn't really give you hints as to where to go next. For example, even the new event for Lightning, I was in Gridania and there was nothing to indicate that if I wanted to participate I needed to go to Limsa Lominsa. Something like that should be I think automatic in this day and age.

As for leveling secondary jobs, it is going to be very hard if they don't add things to do. This game isn't built like FFXI, where you can group, find a camp and pull mobs to grind.

Unfortunately they removed the enemies that were over level 50 that 1.0 used to have, not sure why, but yeah. So, that doesn't mean you can't form a pt and go kill stuff for exp, there are plenty of enemies in the open world to kill for levels. There are plenty of ways to get exp in this game, people are so obsessed with the easy/fast ways to do everything though its irritating. There are combat leves, FATEs, quests, dungeons and even just going out and killing crap.

Not to mention leveling jobs purely on quests doesn't really give you the experience for learning to play a job well. Honestly I think people should level off dungeons and leves primarily, SE made a huge mistake giving quests such large exp rewards and making FATEs faster exp than leves and dungeons.

I agree with the OP and on top of that, I believe quests should be reset for every new class you begin. I'm sorry, but fate grinding alternate classes is so boring, a mood killer,, and a pain in the ass. It's so monotonous. I'd rather have a plethora of quests than lame FATES. Do what GW2 did, have plenty of quests and STILL have the world events (FATES) that gave a good chunk of xp if you happened to run into them. By increasing the number of quests and resetting quests for alternate classes, you're NOT going to seeing FATES ignored. There will STILL be people who like FATE grinding that do them. But if you allow it so that quests reset per alternate class and add more quests, then you give others, with different play styles, something to look forward to and say, 'hey, I think I'll pay another 15 bucks for another month."
