    That just can't be true!
I completely agree with OP, it just starts to get thinner and thinner with quests after level 35 and since I reached about 40 it has become a serious problem.
I'm level 43 now and I have done all quests that there are to be found and I still need more than 200k to the next level.
So far I have filled it in with guild leves and occasionaly fates and dungeons but even that is not enough.
I will for certain not carry on with a subscription on this game if this isn't adressed soon.

If you do every FATE that is close to where your quests take you, you'll always be over-leveled. I NEVER FATE grinded my first class through but still did FATEs when they showed up and had around 100 or so done around when I hit 50. Just do everything that shows up along the way (esp your huntlog NEVER SKIP HUNGLOG).

I was one of the people who ran out of quests, then had to start wandering around in to different zones searching where to start the next hub. Questing is so disjointed, and if you want to quest you actually have to hunt and search and wander all around the zones.

I suppose there is some charm to that. It rewards exploration, and if that makes you happy I am giving you a Fonzie style thumbs up. But for me, at least, I felt that questing was more a let-down in this game. It's very inefficient when compared to fate grinding.

So what I like to see happen? Well, a buff to the XP given from quests would be a great start. Nothing outrageous, but a solid 15% XP buff would go a long way to making questing feel worthwhile. Also, I would love to see quest completions tied to our classes. This way it would be feasible to level via questing for each class. That way we aren't forced to fate grind till our eyes bleed for our next lvl 50.

If you do all quests with your main character that should easily get you too lvl 50 no problem, the problem is when you start your second or third then its pure fate grind city.
and before you say you still have too grind fates on your main, yeah there is some grinding there but that's deliberate too give you some space inbetween quest too try out some dungeons or get some better gear from them and still stay in the expected lvl area for the quests how you get that exp is up to you.i used it too farm brayflox and side dungeons.

5k per quest times what 8 quests? That's about 1/24th of a level. Still not enough quests...I want quests not FATES.

Have to agree with the OP. The lack of story quests is starting to kick in with me , the last 3 levels of my Conjurer 24 25 and now 26 has had me grinding XP to get to the next part of the story. Now I don't mind grinding in games, I play STO for christs sake and the grinding in ARR is nothing compaired to that game but what it dosent do is make you grind to play the story. when I hit level 26 and saw my next story mission wasn't till level 27 I gave up and went off to be a weaver and reading whats in these forums I get the sense that this story grind is going to get a lot worse.

I'm going to agree with this. The main sticking point is Coerthas. You can very believably hit leveling doldrums as you get close to the level where you can access Coerthas. The next drought hits sometime before lv45, and then its a bunch of story quests leading to the end of the main storyline. What I feel most for is the people grinding their second, third and fourth classes.

Part of me wishes the side quests (that make sense) would reset for "alt" classes. I don't see how a guy that asks you to collect yarzon shells for troop training exercises would not find themselves needing more yarzon shells later on some time after you completed that quest on your main class, for example.

    * The sad thing is that FFXIV turned RDM into a turret, and people think that's what it's supposed to be. It's supposed to combine sword and magic into something more, not spend the bulk of gameplay spamming spells and jump into melee for only 3 GCDs before scurrying back to the back line like good little casters.
    * Design ideas:
Red Mage - COMPLETE (https://tinyurl.com/y6tsbnjh), Chemist - Second Pass (https://tinyurl.com/ssuog88), Thief - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/vdjpkoa), Rune Fencer - First Pass (https://tinyurl.com/y3fomdp2)

I suppose this is as good a place as any to have my first post, though I worry it will be buried. Anyway, here is my opinion on the game's quests:
First, I absolutely love them. They were standard MMO fare, but well-written and the quantity seemed just about right. I got my Black Mage to 50 eating up every quest I could, but I also tended to chain-dungeons and gear myself up at every available level. Anyway, with the majority of exp coming from quests, it took comparatively little dungeon/FATE/Leve grind to get to 50. The first time.
I would love to level another class to 50, but a prospect of a FATE grind seems awful.
I think the biggest problem is that we are given all of these alive and gorgeous environments that we get to visit once along our journey to 50. Then, we're afking in town somewhere, waiting for a DF queue.
