    One more thing

They said they are gonna do a massive update every three months. Anyone think they will add a boatload of new quests for all levels?

Make lots of noise insisting they do so, Mooserocka33, because this is Square-Enix.

If you don't tell them what you want and hope they're listening, their big updates might be bizarre and strange things that might not be bad, but might also be completely irrelevant to anything that's elsewise wrong.

Me, I'd love to see this game succeed wildly. I'd love to see it gain traction in the market and be a game that is genuinely worth playing, and not just the latest exercise in gold-plated mediocrity the MMO market's being made to tolerate.

So I will do the only thing I can do to help encourage this; kick the gorram walls and make unceasing quantities of noise about what I think and why I think it.

There's a very, very good chance that I'm completely wasting my time and nobody even remotely relevant to any decision-making processes will likely know that things were even written on this forum, let alone caring what my things thusly written had to say about anything at all.

But its the forum I've got, and I am using it.

    How about yourself?

    Full Agreeance

There is an extreme lack of quests. I do realize not everyone likes to quest grind, but I do and like the sub plots here there that go on. What is in game is awesome, but no where near enough. Further what ruins the game entirely is questing all the way through to wait 1-2 hour ques for dungeons/primals to push the story quest. Absolutely horrible and foolish. Never gate a players progression with mandatory que quest that needs a 4 man group. They all should be solo quests. Dungeons are phenominal xp and I do que while questing, but running out of quest and running around like a chicken for fates is boring, and extremely deterring. When you first start you get to fully mix quests, fates, leve's, logs, guiildheste's, and dungeons. This was phenomenally intelligent and that died fast! I'll not sub for quite a while until fixed. Also, these people are high if they think 50% bonus xp and no quests will make me use 1 character to play multi-classes. You can't even change class when qued.

I agree, Chrysania. I got ACN to 50 with a break to play THM to 30 (for swiftcast). Changed gears & got Fisher to 50. Liked the looks of PUG & got just shy of 15 and wow, do I miss questing. More quests would be great, but I'd be happy with quest completions being tracked / class. Let me do those solo duty quests and put my PUG skills & training to the test. I'd gladly do all the quests again.

They clearly want us to multi-class on the same character, but the grind that awaits when there are no quests left is just depressing. So, I guess my wishlist would be:
    1. Story/Side quest completions tracked / class
    2. Add more quests, especially 40-50
    3. Boost XP in DF (similar XP / hour to a leisurely questing session)
    4. Boost XP for battle leves (shouldn't feel like a waste to not use them for DOH/DOL)

I'd really like to level up CNJ and the tank classes (I like tanking and healing roles), but the grind I have to look forward to makes me feel burned out just thinking about it.

I've just hit 45 BLM quest and got my gear, was so excited, unlocked few quests at 45 did them and turned the game off. Never have I felt so underwhelmed after ploughing through 10 levels, this game gives nothing back for the effort put in. It's just too staggered and fractured you spend hours and hours getting to a point and them bam you have your reward and nothing to do with it I've never known anything like it #depressed

The quest design is ok til lvl 30 around,
but then the "Love" the quests are made and the storyline change into "unloveliness",
for me there are 2 dev teams: 1 who didnt finish the game with quests and story,
and one dev team who worked really hard for the beginning of the game,

    The Point is:

    - You can make fates til lvl 50, is ok, belongs to the game
    - You can make dungeons til lvl 50,is ok, belongs to the game,
    - YOU CANT MAKE QUESTS til lvl 50, cause they are not enough there, BELONGS TO THE GAME

And as consequence it is a bad bad asia grinder from Lvl 40 to 50 and this mistake will cost FF14 many customers.

Totally agree with you, the game is perfection almost up to level 30, it draws you in and seems to get everything right, then it's pretty much a case of oh well nothing really happened now for 8 levels see you in 20 hours after a serious bore/grindfest and we will give you 3/4 new quests to do before your next 10 level grind.

Compared to FF11 and FF14 1.0, this is not a grind. For some reason many Asians (am an Asian but hate grind) seem to think that grind is part of MMO life.

If you think the grind as a battle class is bad, I really suggest you never try gathering.

Remember that MMO RPGsare build for the long term, you are not expected to get to lvl 50 within a week.

It is the leveling after your first lvl 50 that scares me. After you use all your quests on the first class, you are only left with leves, FATEs and grinding kills.

I hope that they create more repeatable quests for secondary, etc classes. Else it will be FATEs all the way. So all those players screaming for FATE nerfs, please think of the big picture... Not only about your first char...
Bolded part....the majority of the FFXIV playerbase isn't from an asian country where grindy games are common.

The lack of quests just simply makes the game frustrating. I personally have already seen how mindless FATEs are, and thus, don't want to resort to spamming them in order to level my job. This being said though, it's not even an option to FATE spam, as by the time you get to a FATE, it's usually over. Even if you're in a party. There's simply so many people stuck in the "no quest" limbo, it's just mad rush of 50-60 people in certain zones zooming around and quashing a FATE before it even starts practically. Dungeons are ok, but queue times are horrid for DPS, as usual. I enjoy a nice quest. Give me a bit of story. But the second I hit 41, I was locked out of the main story, out of zone quests, and began eating my leve allowance to grind up to 42. Then it's rinse and repeat. I'm currently 2/3rds to 43, with only about 50 leve allowances left, and nothing to do but leve or FATE. It's frustrating to the point of making me not want to play.

May I suggest that additional quest lines be added and only unlocked when you start your 2nd (3rd, 4th, etc.) job. This would give added backstory/lore/etc. and needed quest exp to level the added job(s) without getting into a boring grind. Admittedly it DOES mean additional work for writers and devs, but if Yoshi's goal of having FFXIV last for 10 years, they WILL be needed to keep people busy and exploring.

End-game content cannot do it all. There needs to be a way to keep those that want to keep adding jobs busy without getting them bored. Yoshi and the devs would be smart not to ignore the lower levels while adding end-game content.

FFXIV seems to be based on multiple swings through the lower levels and keeping them fresh with new and surprising new content and quests would do much in making FFXIV different from other MMOs that just concentrate on adding end-game content.
