Unfortunately they removed the enemies that were over level 50 that 1.0 used to have, not sure why, but yeah. So, that doesn't mean you can't form a pt and go kill stuff for exp, there are plenty of enemies in the open world to kill for levels. There are plenty of ways to get exp in this game, people are so obsessed with the easy/fast ways to do everything though its irritating. There are combat leves, FATEs, quests, dungeons and even just going out and killing crap.

Not to mention leveling jobs purely on quests doesn't really give you the experience for learning to play a job well. Honestly I think people should level off dungeons and leves primarily, SE made a huge mistake giving quests such large exp rewards and making FATEs faster exp than leves and dungeons.

Learning the job comes from playing, regardless if you're in a group doing dungeons, fates, or leves. Your opinion doesn't make sense.

Except you stated exactly what I said. So you agree.

I was saying that you learn by doing and most of the side quests and the majority of story quests are just simple fetch quests or "go talk to this person" quests. In other words you get exp for basically doing nothing. Dungeons and Leves are the best ways to learn your class, and the game mechanics. Learning those things after you reach 50 doesn't make sense.

Me personally, I got one class to lvl 50 and I won't be leveling another one.....ever! Because Fates are boring, I hate and despise them. And the competition for them is ridiculous and I was ready to quit and leave the game, But due to friends I persevered. But don't mistake me...if this game doesn't see some MAJOR improvements and NOT just in big patches like 2.1, I'm leaving the game. I'd rather waste my time and money on something more worthwhile.

I love the story of the game its one or the reasons I play it. But the game also just came out, and people are already getting burnt out because they made it so easy to get through everything(which is a whole other issue). 2.1 will be adding more content so hopefully that will alleviate some of boredom people are running into. But, people don't need to wait endless hours in DF, linkshells and free companies exist for a reason. And Honestly I find grinding easy and boring quests far less entertaining than actual fights/dungeon. Simple quests are boring, and much of the story line fights/dungeons are repeatable anyway.

You complain about the shortage of quests, but you don't even mention how boring and repetitious they are? Between fetch this and that, kill X number of these, gather some of that stuff, talk to every single npc in the most god forsaken parts of the world, tour de eorzea and place this X at Y spot on map and kill Z that spawns... and grinding FATEs? The answer is obvious.

    FATEs. Hands down.

I prefer the boring quests than fates, at least seems that you are doing something inside the story.
running around doing fates its just not worst than staying in a spot killing the same type of mob over and over like it was in ffxi.

Does no one try and improve their gear? The reason most of the low lvl gear works for multi. classes and not just one is so you have a reason too. every time I exited a dung. I requed while I did storyline, did every fate I ran across and only once did I have to grind for 1 whole level but that's bec. I rushed and skipped a bunch of fates. Then my roommate discovered 2 areas where I had missed a ton of quest in, next thing I knew I was ahead of cap again, while saving some quest for my next lvl 43+ job. I cant count how many dung I entered w/ ppl complaining, wearing gear from 4 dungeons ago. WP/ak/ifrit/garuda being an easy ex I constantly see people with lvl 30-40 acc. thinking its ok and upgrade from the very common wp basic gear(hands, legs, and feet) to DL when its only a 1-2 stat gain while still wearing that lvl 30 acc. were is the DL version is a 14 stat gain. Heck updating some acc. from GC to DL are bigger upgrades then from a GC wpn to an ifrit wpn based on your job/gc.
