How do you find and equip skills available from other classes?

Its a max of 10 if youre a basic Class (50/5), max of 5 as a Job ([50/5]/2).

^^^ This is correct. You get 1 slot ever 5 levels up to 10 slots on your base class. Jobs get 1 slot every 10 levels, which is a max of 5 slots.

Also... Every class can use Cure and Protect. Not every job can, though.
