So About those Character Transfers

I have stopped playing now. It's been two weeks since I last logged on. There is no word or even a slight hint of character transfers being available in the near future. I'm stuck on a JP server because of the limited capacity on US servers. All the people I was supposed to level and play this game with are all stuck on separate servers due to the lack of options in this game. I would like some answers to as when this is actually going to happen and if it's going to happen. Otherwise the 7 free days we received is completely worthless and should be more like a month of free play after a free transfer. It will have to be free or a month free for me to stay playing this game along with hundreds of others stuck in my situation. I would suggest something enticing and something quick before more people decide to drop this game before it's too late. It's a good game right now and could be great if things were straightened out (transfers and servers).

i think a lot of players are in the same boat. all the exploration
and experiences of learning the game and dungeon running
has been ruined by these world transfer delays. i expected all
the congestion problems when ARR released so i took that in
stride...having progressed my first character to where he is at
without being able to play with my friends has increasingly
become the biggest disappointment. thanks for a great game.

Good Thing at the start of August on the Load stone they said it would be mid September and how the mog station page were you apply for transfers says it will open Mid September. So next we will hear Mid October.... Early November. Pick a date and stick with it.

If you happen to expect a free transfer or a free month after a transfer to keep playing you might as well quit now. They already gave out a week of free time for the log-in problems and that is IMO enough for them to give out. It sucks people are stuck on other servers than their friends (and I am one of those people) but MMO's are pretty rocky at the start... If this is such a big deal for you my suggestion would be to wait a month or so after an MMO comes out to jump in.

I understand they compensated for the people on high pop servers. They have not compensated the ones on low pop servers and other countries due to a high volume of players. Nanaya makes a great point that the least they could do is offer a period of time for the people who started since the launch to receive a free transfer. It is a MMO and it's new. There will be bugs and other obstacles. But don't sit here and only compensate a portion of the players and not the others. Placing a 2 week free transfer for eligible players who started from release or up to when the fixed the high population servers is completely fair. It's not like I didn't pay and am requesting services above and beyond reason. And if they do make the transfers available they need to be from any world JP EU or NA/US to any JP EU or NA/US realm.

Well, factoring in that this is Square-Enix we are talking about, I fully expect early October, but it will be early October 2014.

One can at least hope with these delays, they'll offer some form of free transfer for a set amount of time, even only for a couple of weeks or so, as compensation for once again dropping the ball. They offered the extra week for the launch debacle, so one can hope they possess the foresight and business sense to do that again. Because many people were screwed out of playing with their friends on Legacy servers, or the new populated servers, thanks to the meager server capacity. Forcing someone to fork over another $20 or whatever it will be, on top of the monthly fee, especially when SE forced their hand to either roll on a different server or don't play, is a good way to lose players.
