    Alchemy Potions/Duration

    The stat/resistance potions need to be changed to last as long as the cooldown on them at the very least, if not become a buff much like food. In their current form they are pretty useless. No ones gonna drink a potion that will last 15 seconds with a 4 minute cooldown.

    The healing potion cooldown needs to be lowered a bit as well.

    Fully agree with this. At present, it seems like ALC gets the shaft in comparison to every other craft out there. I think changing the buff potions to be more akin to WoW flasks would be a nice idea (i.e. maybe lower the % increase but increase duration to like 30mins). They'd have raid/dungeon/endgame utility then and ALC could actually make decent money like many of the other crafts still seem able to.

    Even still, this is not enough. ALC is currently weighed down by other useless things that could definitely use some fixing.

    Agreed, potions need to be more of a buff and less of a flash in the pan. As it stands there is little incentive to use them.

    No, that'd make them overpowered. But it *is* too short now. I can see the duration being half the cooldown.

    15 seconds is too short for stuff that's sold for 1k-10k gil.
    I'd prefer a longer duration with a smaller effect or a high boost at the start which gets lower over the duration of the potion.

    Example:
    Potion of Strengh - duration 1 minute - STR+ X% (max 10)
    or
    Potion of Strengh - duration 1 minute - STR+ X% (max 20) - value decreases over the duration of the items effect

    And instead of a medicated status that prevents you from using another potion, they could implement a 50% chance of being transformed into one of the minions, rendering you useless, for 10 seconds

    I came to the site specifically to gripe about this very thing. 15 second duration on these is worse than useless. I'd rather toss them than leave them in my inventory to take up space. The duration needs to be made to be at least long enough for a boss fight. Decrease the potency if need be, but in their current state they are trash.

    They're supposed to be SITUATIONAL, if SE intended them to be long term they'd have made the foods.

    The only thing which has to be changed is the shared cooldown of the potions which give a stat boost and those which give HP/MP.
    If they seperate the CD of those two they will be unsed, sold and bought more often.

    they are out of global cooldown, but restricted by animations, right ? so its like another cooldown ability with 4 min cooldown
    i would make them on par with the actual cooldown abilities atleast, half the cooldown and let them last 20 sec
    as for the potency, don't know current values so can not comment on that

    They are most beneficial during a primal's signature attack and I bet in extreme mode people will be very thankful for the fifteen seconds of protection.
