Ifrit's Harpoon.

I have run Ifrit Hard Mode more than 120 times now (trust me, i kept track) and no matter how many times i do it, i still do not get the drop for Lancer/Dragoon.

I have THREE other ifrit weapons that i cannot use (smn/blm book -Ifrits codex - ifrits blade)

Why so difficult? It's pretty hard to run dungeons and other things that are a huge dps check if i am not geared up properly, seriously 120+ times? the number of unsuccessful runs just keeps rising.

MOD, in game GM, SOMEONE Please help me figure this out. this is bothering me more than it should, i'm not one to quit playing an MMO because i dont get a drop, but with the way this is setup, It's pretty freaking ridiculous that i haven't seen my Harpoon drop.

Seriously SE i'll trade you the other THREE Ifrits weapons i have for my harpoon, i wont even miss them.

I think i'm speaking for all of those other people who haven't received their drops when i say:

I have put in the time and effort, i deserve my reward.

It's just bad luck. That's how MMOs work. Either tough it out or do something else. At least it's not like WoW where you don't see the drop and then have to wait another week before you can even attempt it again.

Unfortunately I'm in the same position as you, though I've probably done only half of your runs (only counting successful ones). It dropped the very first run I did but I rolled a 7 and the other DRG rolled a 77. Haven't seen it drop since. I have the BRD, SMN, and WHM weapons, all of which are level 1 for me and I'm not planning on leveling any of them any time soon. Best thing to do though, if you do keep on trying to get it, is to queue and level another class while waiting.

should make a post some time to try to get 1000 runs in and find out what all loot dropped.

nothing so scientific but in my 30-40 kills ive almost fully seen bows, blk mage weapons and healer weapons. 2 swords, 2 axes, 1 harpoon, 1 summoner weapon, 0 monk weapons.

my friend with 50ish kills has seen very similar

just farm garuda or titan they drop better weapons anyways... or better yet just build your relic.

It is completely luck. I got my harpoon on my second kill. My bard friend has done Ifrit dozens of times with no bow. RNG is a fickle mistress.

chances are if someone is farming ifrit 120 times they are not in a position to get a titan kill for the relic weapon

This is my problem, i am not geared for Garuda, much less Titan. The time i spent wasted on Ifrit i could have been gearing Darklight (i have a few pieces but not all)

I really think i'm just going to move on and get a similar weapon from one of the Grand Companies. I'm not going to worry about Ifrit anymore. my FC is leaving me behind because i can't get the drop, and everyone else already has Garuda weapons.

garuda doesnt require much (titan does). GC weapon with a few pieces from AK is enough, ive killed her when i was the only person above 100 dps. Its more about doing things correctly than raw numbers.

Yeah the GC weapon is pretty close to Ifrit's in terms of quality, and more than enough to get you through Grauda.
