Getting massive packet loss here. Can't even watch videos on youtube.
Log onto the FFXIV forums to find out ISPs are throttling people because of FFXIV.
Nice job. Now my home internet is jacked up. Awesome.

Call your ISP and find out of they are throttling the connection.
I'm at work (having the same lag problems with FFXIV everyone else has) and I called Cox Com (my internet provider) for the heck of it to see if they say anything about it and they told me they just did a major update and they are asking people to unplug thier modems and routers to reset them. I don't know if other companies did the same thing or not, I'm just throwing that out there. Can't wait to get home and try it. /shrug
Cox Communications is also my ISP. I reset my router and modem last night while having lag spikes constantly through Haukke Manor. The reset didn't seem to do anything. From what I've been reading on the forums, the problem is consistant regardless of ISP, World Server, or Physical Location. That points a problem with the servers themselves.
Here's a thread I created to try and consolidate all the info out there about this problem.

And here's a thread that may have a solution:

Im getting 25 percent packet loss constant. Even when not on FFXIV.I'm at work (having the same lag problems with FFXIV everyone else has) and I called Cox Com (my internet provider) for the heck of it to see if they say anything about it and they told me they just did a major update and they are asking people to unplug thier modems and routers to reset them. Just sitting idle. 25 percent. I hope maybe its a Cox update or something.
A lot of the immature members are blaming SE for this... It is a problem with ISP's, Since a Japanese Company opened Servers and are using a tiny amount of bandwidth (FFXIV Uses an estimated 100MB in 8 hours of playing.) They want to try making some money off them by cutting there bandwidth and making it such a big problem they wanna try getting a bribe to stop it (Welcome to Capitalist America!)
TL;DR
Best thing you can do is Call your Service Provider, Ask them about the throttling and try requesting that they Fix the Issue, As It's not SE's Fault that Greedy ISP's are getting Greedier.
Mine Recently Lifted its Throttling after i called explaining the throttle they put up and how i think it was unnecessary for the very small amount of data it is.
The Problem that persisting is that ISP's think or are using the excuse that this is very Data Heavy P2P Software (When it is in fact very very Minor) And want to use an excuse to try making your experience worse so you can complain, so they can in turn complain to the company; This has been done in the past for Marketing Schemes.... Not the most Honorable way of Business.
Expect that the Lag will fix itself in the future due the ISP's starting to Lay off, The way there Technicians are looking at it is :" A Very Large amount of data is starting to get pulled through our servers unexpectedly It must be Peer to Peer Data!"
The Best bet in all honesty, Call Your ISP, Talk to them about it, ask about your data usage, ask them if they block any P2P Programs or ask them if they have in the last week, explain to them its a game that you play and it Isn't exactly P2P, the only reason they block it is they think it is something illegal. There are some companies that Throttle up to 90% and admit to it, But after a good 'Complaint', they usually fix the problem if it isn't the first time.
Sorry for the rant, I felt i have to explain it from multiple angles so the people that don't get the concept get it, It's an unfortunate understandable event, But once Subscriptions Kick in, I am sure all these small Problems Will be fixed.
Honestly;
”仕方がないね?”
"It can't be helped."
But it will be fixed Hopefully soon.
Its not just while in game.
Maybe cox is just throttling me in general.

Throttling is a completely different issue than what some members are experiencing. OP here sounds like his issue is with his ISP because applications outside FFXIV are slow. However, when everything other than FFXIV works normally, that tends to point to the problem being outside your hardware / connection.
People raising legitimate issues with SE don't (for the most part) do so to malign the company, they talk about these to get the problem fixed. When people in and outside the US with dozens of different ISPs on multiple servers are experiencing the same problem, it's not because of anything wrong on our side.
Also, subscriptions HAVE kicked in-my card was charged last week.

P.S. I fixed your post in my quote (items in red have been corrected.)
Have a nice day!

It should be noted that it isn't always YOUR particular ISP at fault, but it could be a segment managed by ANOTHER ISP that you hop on in route to the servers. One such offender is Cogent Communications... and guess what, they handle a lot of routing in Montreal.
Raist,
Thanks for your thread: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...lease-research
I'll look into this and post there. Feels like we're at least making some progress toward getting to the cause.
