Ya I ran Bray tons of times and like you have found duty groups to be surprisingly good most of the time. That may change at 50 but for now it's fine.. even Sunken Temple of Qarn i've had good duty groups.

Thank you good sir for not being terrible and fate grinding to 50 only to roll into AK with white level 28 gear. Do not listen to Hola or any other people who may dis this play style, this is how you should play so that you are not terrible when you do get into an instance. I had way more fun doing some of these dungeons more than once than fate grinding its not bad exp if you have rested. As I'm leveling I am mainly repeating dungeons for good loot. But I'm at The Sunken Temple of Qarn and havent seen anything good yet for a PLD/GLA.
I got a tower sheild but prefer shields with higher block rate. Am I wrong prefering that?
http://xivdb.com has some lev 35 aetherial loot listed - can I assume it's gotten from this dungeon? It doesnt say where it came from.
That will change once you hit AK because as I said before you will get the terrible terrible fate grinders who went from 30-50 on fates alone and have terrible gear in an instance where gear makes a big difference.

I already run into people on my server in Qarn still using level 20 whites, or level 15 greens. It is... sickening. Speaking of which, run Qarn a few times to get the level 35 sword. That is the only good thing from Qarn for you, Brayflox has Cavalry set and if you are extremely lucky, the Gladiator ring. Otherwise, move onto Cutter's Cry after you have all your items since Cavalry CAN last you up to that far, but it will be noticeable how at this point you need to upgrade your gear... Which Cutter's Cry can help you with.

I was running 35 Aetherials (from Qarn) and a pair of 32 Green gloves (from Brayflox) until Stone Vigil. I hardly got anything useful at Cutter's Cry - mostly just accessories, which were good for replacing my previous white accessories.
One thing I hate about Qarn armor is that the Chest and Leg pieces are those 2-part armors (Chest = Head & Chest, Legs = Legs & Boots). This means that if you were to run a new dungeon, and got a helm/chest or a leg/boots, you'd need to wait for the other corresponding part to drop too, unless you have some older equipment to use, and keep in mind that you should make sure their total defense stat is still higher than the 2-part equipment you've previously equipped.
One more thing to notice as well is that as a tank, if you are undergeared it becomes quite noticeable. I was not able to tank the final chest room in Stone Vigil with my 35 Aetherials/32 Gloves set. Now that I've got some 41 parts, I'm able to tank it, even though it's still tough.
My suggestion is to follow the other suggestions here, and farm Brayflox for the Lv32 Green gear, and use that to farm Cutter's. I am glad to be rid of my Lv35 2-piece equipments, having replaced them for Lv41 ones from Stone Vigil. The only thing worth it from Qarn is the Lv38 Gladiator weapons, and perhaps the shield. I have really bad luck with shield drops though, so I'm just using a GC-issued Lv42 shield.
Thanks for the advice guys. I wish there was a concise dungeon loot list out there though so I can see what drops where.

When you enter a dungeon, the drops you get are of the same level as the Dungeon's minimum level requirement. For example, Green Cavalry gear is set at Level 32, which is the same as the minimum level requirement to run Brayflox's Longstop. You unlock Brayflox's Longstop at Level 32 earliest. For example, according to this site, here's the information regarding the Green drops you can get from Brayflox's Longstop - http://ffxiv.gamerescape.com/wiki/Brayflox%27s_Longstop.
Yup that's what i needed, and according to it Qarn truely is low on good gear, thanks.
This loot guide isn't complete but it's the best I have found: http://www.bluegartr.com/threads/117...on-Loot-Thread
OP, I'm doing the exact same thing you do. I've only been playing for a few weeks, but I've been running each dungeon multiple times. A.) I enjoy the content. B.) It's good practice. My thinking is since tanks and healers shoulder a lot of responsibility, and also have to tank the unforgiving hate from the party sometimes, it's a good idea to become intimate with every new ability gained. I also think that by following each dungeon, I can emerse myself into the ever-increasing complexity without any culture shock at end-game. I also, watch videos and walkthroughs by other players before entering for the first time so I don't inadertingly make an avoidable mistake and upset the group. See folks? Some tanks genuinely try to help you all out. I've already had some d-bag tell me I was wasting my time as well. My reply: It's my time to waste.

Mouse over dungeons and select the one you want. You should only run Qarn until you get your Flametongue, as most equip from that dungeon is garbage.
Wrong. I thoroughly enjoy running dungeons, and some have decent looking equipment. The Calvary set from Brayflox is a good example. If there's a transmute option down line, which more than likely there will be, you'll be coming back to get your set pieces.you are wrong for doing dungeons more than once before lv50.
Some people aren't in a race to get 50, they just want to enjoy the game.
