It is a simple question...
Has SE mentioned how much will Vanity slot cover?
Will Vanity cover Weapons and Armor look
or
Vanity only cover Armor look.

I'm hoping weapons. I like my wyvern spear, but use the far superior yet uglier Giantsgall Trident.
They haven't mentioned vanity for weapons but I think it would be silly not to have them but the information I've gathered is that it was supposed to be implemented in 2.0 but couldn't in time so they pushed it back to who knows when. He also made it impossible for Black Mages to wear Heavy Armor so the vanity option wouldn't be broken.
However some people don't agree with wearing bikinis to dungeons and such. I mean they'll still have their weapons so you can still recognize their class without any problems. Hahah. That's about it mate!
If somebody wants to wear a bikini in the vanity slot for a dungeon, why the hell not if the actual stuff being used is good enough?
As for me, I'll be donning my coliseum gear for the look over whatever darklight pieces I'll really be using...and hopefully my wyvern spear look for my trident.
Same thing I'm doing but for Leo Armor! If somebody wants to wear a bikini in the vanity slot for a dungeon, why the hell not if the actual stuff being used is good enough?

So imagine being able to use our PVP gears in our vanity slots but still have our PVE stats? This is one of the main reasons why I want it to come out. Especially since PVP comes out in 2.1. Good combo if they're both released.
I mean check out this Leo Armor for the Paladins!
I think this one is for White Mage.
I think this one is for Monks.

Warriors I believe.
Definitely Black Mages here!
Looks like Dragoons?
Looks like Scholars.. or Summoners?
the last 1 is bards 100% , its looks $%!% so of course BARD
On the weapon would be nice... lol on bringing a knife to poke Titan (story mode).
Ya it funny when something like that happens.
Well on the topic:
I would like to see some special Vanity Weapons introduced into the game other than having the good looking skins restricted only to the high endgame stuff.
Maybe have Vanity Weapons skins that are replicas of old FF weapons like...
Ultima Weapon (weapon)
or
Hellish Claw
maybe even God Hand (known to be a recurring weapon for Monk class/jobs and one of the strongest fist weapon for Monks in FF games)

Please no, turn this game into a ridiculous fest ;( (imo, obviously)If somebody wants to wear a bikini in the vanity slot for a dungeon, why the hell not if the actual stuff being used is good enough?

Really wish coliseum gear was a bit more gritty coliseum feeling, feels too "Faabuuloouuss" for what it says it is (if you imagine a coliseum fighter perfect shiny metal isn't what I think most would see), but w.e concept of light and unencumbering armor isn't unknown.
Still really hoping the seasonal / misc. "fun" items are locked out of it, or as said in many other posts if the system is too loose then a toggle to turn it off (either or). I'd much rather see everyone in the same darklight gear than an army of reindeer and bikini miq'otes.
Also some other curiosities for this vanity system-
How will heavy darklight and robes work? (two slot items)
Will there be a catalog you gather from obtaining items the first time? Or will you need the item at time of visual modification, will the item be consumed? What of unique/untradeables if so?
In PvP gear may change tactics- would using vanity system be allowed? (Say you are in full AF3 but you look like you are in AK gear, your kill priority to the enemy would be different based on visual queues and compositions)
