Square told me I wasted 30 dollors and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Square told me I wasted 30 dollors and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

Explanation: So during the launch of the game the Mog Station opened up and many people including my self mistakenly registered the game under a new service account mostly due to the Mog Stations terrible early interface. I took the necessary procedures to submit a ticket under the Mistakenly Registered Wrong Service Account page to which a few days later Square said all tickets 48 hours old were being removed which I then submitted another ticket. However as the free early access timer ran out my ticket was still not resolved and threads upon threads with hundreds of post were coming out with many people reporting the mistakenly registered account issues which means support was fully loaded at that time leaving the ticket I submitted in a huge pile. At that point I decided to buy another copy of the game and register it to the correct service account believing I could have the other copy sorted out via Support a few weeks later while things died down. Evidently, I was wrong. Square Support does not have the ability to Un-Register used codes OR Add subscription days onto accounts. Thus I am in this situation now. The Square Support basically told me I wasted 30 dollars and no one can do anything about it.

[The ticket I first submitted before my early access days ended was finally replied to about a week ago but at that point I had already registered a my new copy onto the correct service account leading the ticket support to believe my issue had been resolved]

Here's the log of the Chat Support [Hiding Agent Name because it isn't really his fault Square didn't implement the capabilities to add subscription days]

You: Pretty much I accidentally registered my copy of the game to the wrong service acccount [account 2] but since alot of issues were going on at launch I just bought a new copy of the game to register onto the correct service account and I would like to have 30 days of subscription to be added to my service account 1 and have service account 2 removed.
Agent A***** P: Hi Stanley, unfortunately that is something that we cannot do. We have no way to add time to any account.
You: Well what do i do then? Because that would mean i wasted 30 dollors.
Agent A***** P: Unfortunately their is no way that we can refund that to you.
You: Could you some how unregister the service account 2 code i used so atleast i could give that copy to a friend.
Agent A***** P: That is not possible either. Their is nothing that we can do as that code has already been registered.
You: So your telling me I wasted 30 dollors and theres nothing anyone can do about it?
Agent A***** P: That is correct.

Anyways, If any of the higher ups or anyone from Square that would like to help me out here please let me know. Thanks.

As for everyone else. If you did the same thing I did then YOU WASTED 30 DOLLARS AND THERE'S NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT IT!

Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the agreements we check off on when installing and setting up the game. No one really reads them, but it's pretty much covered in there--the old "no refunds, no exchanges, no credit" type of thing going on there. Doesn't necessarily mean you are completely out of options, depending on your circumstances.

If you don't need that second account, guess you could let your friend use it from now on and get your $30 from him/her. I know.. it would be like selling the account and gets into that whole gray area about selling an account, but it wouldn't really be selling it in the spirit of what those clauses are designed to guard against.

Alternatively... could always try to get a chargeback through your CC company, provided you are still within the limits to get one. That also could give you your $30 back, but it would lockout that account.

I'll probably sound like an a*****e, but you decided to buy that copy yourself instead of waiting for your account to be fixed, it's not like SE forced you to.
What would happen if everyone who had the same issue would buy a new copy, get their account fixed and then ask for a chargeback instead of the fix?

    Dem Dollors.

Yea, don't expect to get your money back, or even get time tacked onto your main account. There would be too many things people can circumvent if they allowed that. And I'm sure transferring "time" between accounts is not conducive to their business. It's definitely understandable that you wanted to get your playtime in, but that was a decision you jumped into yourself, not understanding the consequences.

It's true that the launch of this game was definitely less than stellar, but it is expected of any MMO tbh. Also, I really don't understand how people had issues with the MogStation...I was able to register my account the second I got the email stating my free trial period was up, and that I would start getting charged. There's only so much hand-holding they can do.

Oh I don't intend on getting any reimbursement if they don't want to give it to me. I just wanted to share my story and if someone from Square wanted to help me out then that would be great. I never asked for a charge back either the full extent of what I was asking as a last resort was to have them unregister my code if possible and as stated it is not.

    Yep.

People had problems with Mogstation because if you don't have previous experience with the "Service Account" System you would have had no idea what it meant and assumed you were adding a Service - FFXIV onto your account. Early Mog station there just a blue button hardly visible that looked like it was adding a different platform [Consoles] and the big glowing vibrant red button was to add the game. I mean it was Squares fault to begin with whoever designed that Mog Station interface but as I said above I don't care if they don't give me my money back that's not what I was asking for I was just sharing my experience with everyone and like I said if Square would indeed like to help me out here then great but if not I won't hold it against them but it was a pretty funny scenario when the Support told me "That is Correct".
