!FIX! for Connection Issues (Lag, 90K, etc)

OK, so nothing had worked for me and I can't guarantee this will work for you

    Open Control Pannel/Network & Internet/Network & Sharing Center

    and select Change Adapter Settings.

Right Click on your adapter and select properties and select configure & finally advanced

Now, on that list find ---Large Send OffLoad (IPV4) and any other Large Send OffLoad left and disable them.

Make sure to note where they were before you did this so you can revert them.

Reboot & Reset your modem and router.

Helped me tones. I 90K'd in EVERY instance and quite frequently would have short freezes in FATES.

!!!!PLEASE NOTE MODS & DEVS, this "could" very well be indicitive of bandwidth shapping policies

Try making those changes to your adapter please. It will break nothing and you can revert the settings change if you notice any ill effects.

That's strange. It will temporarily turn it off then on, did you reset your modem & router and reboot your computer after the changes?
I should clarify, it doesn't turn your adapter off then on it just rediscovers the network card settings, thus interupting the connection temporarily but again, it should'nt disabled your connection.

Awesome. All it does really is tell the network card if the network they are on supports the function and like I said it "could" be indicitive of shapping policies at ISP's but affecting so many? This will have to fall on SE's responsibility to solve with the ISP since it's a policy or not and as a consumer you can't call up your ISP and tell them to stop shapping. I still doubt that's it but if it's like SE claim, it's on them

I'll definitely try this when I get home. Thanks for the tip.

Seems to have helped me. I don't see any more rubber banding going on or crafting skill delays. We'll just have to see for the next few hours.

I don't think this is the fix honestly.

I don't even have any of those options on my adapter, and I still get massive lag and constant 90k errors.

Considering all the people having troubles, it could be that we're contending with multiple issues.

I'm doubtful this will be a panacea, but if it solves some users' issues I am glad for them!

Ok, for anyone this worked for...

Please identify the network card you have. And what software firewall you are using.

Most people will likely have either a Realtek, Broadcom or Intel chip
Like, I have a "Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I217-V" which is more or less a high-end part and I have not had to change any device settings.
I am using Avast Antivirus, but I'm not using the entire security suite which would have a firewall, I'm just using the stock windows 7 firewall.

Most onboard non-wireless network chips are Realtek RTL8111/RTL8168 series

Symantec has instructions on how to disable TOE
    http://www.symantec.com/business/sup...&id=TECH197934

So do a few other Antivirus vendors. This actually suggests to me that it may be peoples third-party firewall software.

Pygar I could kiss you (if you're a girl that is hehe) if you're a dood then i'd shake you your hand vigorously for this info! I did it and went out farming crystals and then crafting when the lag is at it's best and I'm seeing at least a 90% improvement, when i would skip 5 to 10 times between nodes I was only seein one skip once in a while. Thank you!

Oh and I'm hardwired to the router via the stock internet connection on my gigabyte motherboard.
