My question is why is it that people are generalizing us based on an encounter with someone who's more than likely 12?

Because those 12 year olds will be representative of us in a couple of years and perhaps even comprise of the new majority and sadly not all of them will simply grow out of it. I hate to admit it but why does a generalization exist if it's not at least partially true in some way? Rather than pretend the flaws listed in the generalizations don't exist we should be proactively seeking to quash them.

as a generalization asians are racist as hell.
