I've dealt with some of these collectivist and their flawed generalizations. Just call them collectivist.

Speaking English, or being listed as "E" (E only meaning that you're game client is the English version) in the player search/Duty Finder does not mean you're American. It's OK though; I realize it's hip and trendy to constantly bash on America(ns).
Hey check it out! A thread on generalized America bashing where the "enlightened and sensitive" posters are making more generalizations and talking about how they're exceptional compared to the other generalizations.
Well, I'd like to make a generalization that people who accept generalizations but feel they need to point out that they're the exception to that generalization probably shouldn't be talking about being on the moral high ground on generalizations.
Glory to Mankind
America is not a country. It is a pair of continents unless you specify north or south.Well, America is huge compared to some of the other countries that play this game.
The United States is a country. Canada is a country. Mexico is a country. America is not.
Allow me to elaborate *ahem* It's not that Americans don't care - it's just the programming is primarily corporate consumer driven bias/culture. This is in fact a mask which when one is born wears automatically during the citizenship process, (selling of flesh for later labor). Being unable to awaken from such programming and looking past the monetary imbedded greed is an inherit problem. And of course ignoring nature and the natural world for material gain just doesn't help the outlook of a society as a whole, especially if all you exist for is iphone/pad, pop culture etc. With current trends in a progressing profit based society we see the loss of humanity for traditional expected routines and useless material marketing which have replaced a meaningful existence.
Played both FFXI and FFXIV, JP server (cause there only were JP servers.. lol), NA sever in FFXIV.
NA server were more welcoming and generally nicer experience for myself. Never have I seen JP ONLY* or any other kind of ONLY on my 2.0 server, and most people are quite happy to work with the auto-translator to get things done in DF (my clump of NA/EU servers for DF). I've seen some bad people in DF sure, but everyone else in the group was pretty similar in "wow what a #$@!^, thanks for the group guys- hope to see everyone again~".
*(FFXI (my server experience) filled with Japanese elitism, at least the first years or so, then they lost the #1 spot for things- not sure if they are related but after which it seemed JP ONLY appeared less often)
Now I'm not saying "wow everyone has it wrong, NA/EU servers are way nicer than JP servers". I'm saying those threads are usually going to be a weeabo puff puff pass convention, where what you described is exactly what they do- fixated and probably hopeless bias like ones of politics and religion.
Or even Japanese. . XD

I never meant to generalize anyone, if you read my post I'm asking why people do generalize American's for whining, or other things included in my post, not all of us do it. Not everyone in here is generalizing either, I don't understand why you posted if your not going to accurately read.Hey check it out! We brazillians deal with this on every game ever since Ragnarok Online, perhaps even earlier. Enjoy being the scapegoat for once lol.
AWwww you poor American's, I am sure you will get over it.
