    Server Transfer!

    Just wondering if there is a date for server transfer?

    I made a character and started leveling and then found out there is a lot of people I know that are playing the game!

    How soon will this be released and will it be free or a fee?

    There was a live letter from the Tokyo Game Show which said they're scheduled to start in early October now.

    Officially the optional services page (http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...ption_service/) says this is a paid service though so it'll likely have a low cost attached to it (like FFXI did).

    The optional services page hasn't yet been updated to reflect October though so obviously until the process is available anything could change.

    FFXI transfer was not low cost though cost $25 to transfer servers, I don't plan on transferring servers but for those who do want to hope it not that high for XIV.

    I certainly hope they don't have a cost involved in server transfers to low populated servers. They should allow people to move to servers where they can be with their friends for NO cost because of how difficult it was for people to make characters upon launch. They should think about having a window of opportunity for people to transfer to certain servers for free so this can happen for those of us that are not with our friends. I for one will not be transferring any of my characters off of my servers if there is a cost associated with it. Why should I pay even more just to be able to play with friends I should have been able to play with from the beginning?

    Well from day one it was known they were going to be putting in a server transfer option so I doubt they doing it cause of the problems people had not being able to play with their friends just a option that available for people that want to use it so I can see there being some kind of cost attached to it just hope people don't have to pay as much as what they charged in XI for it.
