All I can ask for is that the devs at least receive the suggestion about ghosting party members already in the group that get disconnected, so that when they return they can jump right into the fray. I am with the devs in being against swapping members during an encounter, though I do believe that has more to do with encounter design encouraging such a thing. At the same time, I also keep in mind the occasions when I run into someone also looking to kill quest mobs or signed up for behest that wants to team up for the mob after I've engaged an enemy in combat.
In WoW, I used to stop and invite people right in the middle of a fight just so that they got what they needed and it kept me from feeling like a jackass for killing something right in front of others that also needed to down the same target.
Something to also keep in mind is that if the focus of encounters are part of instanced content, the risk of bringing in outsiders and swapping members is considerably lower so long as you limit the instanced content to a certain number of players.
Seeing the mess that Crystal Tools is capable of, I am in agreement with this statement. It could do more harm than good in the long run unless CS is perfected between now and the PS3 launch AND the current code for the game is fixed. Most likely, I hope this isn't a sign of what we have to look forwards to, SE you best get a second team working now to transfer your assets over to UE3 now, because the current engine just isn't going to last you another 5 years.
