Good Subclasses for Thaumaturge

I have a level 26 Thaumaturge and I've leveled my Archer subclass to 15 in preparation for getting my Black Mage job. I was wondering if anyone has discovered other beneficial subclasses to compliment the Thaumaturge. I've thought about leveling a conjurer to unlock some healing spells for soloing but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

As a BLM, your only subclasses are Arcanist and Archer. You can use all normal cross class skills until you hit 30 and do your BLM quest.

Because of this, getting level 4 Arcanist (literally, just talk to the trainer, then go out and do the first mission, then kill stuff for 5 minutes), for Physick (a heal), is really helpful for solo leveling.

Other than that, the only other really useful cross class skill for you is Raging Strikes, a damage cooldown from archer, which you will already get from being level 15 archer.

BLM (and frankly, most of the caster classes) have terrible cross class choices sadly.

As mentioned above, Archer and Arcanist are your choices for cross class abilities for Black Mage, which you will choose over THM for group content. Raging Strikes, Quelling Strikes, Physick, Virus and Eye for an Eye are the most useful cross class abilities. It requires you to take both ARC and ACN to 34.

Uh, Quelling Strikes? Not pulling hate off the tank is a really good thing, IMHO...

You'll need to take Archer to 34 to get it, however.

I actually forgot about the arcanist abilities, cause I'm too lazy to use them (I'm awful I know XD), but yes, they are decent support if your group needs them.

I mentioned Quelling, and it is debatable whether you ever need it or not (I've only ever needed it on pug tanks in AK). It certainly can't hurt.

For DPS, the only cross class ability is Raging Strikes.
