Flash (and other MP-skills) becoming more costly during higher levels?

WHY is flash's MP required increasing with every level up, and at a faster rate than my MP itself goes up?? This is beyond rediculous. I used to be able to do flash 4 or even 5 times in a fight (altho its pretty bad on the party if I have to) and now I can only do it twice! What is going through SE's heads?

Maybe start you out being able to spam flash so that you have an easier time holding aggro while learning. Now that your leveling up your party members shoukd be aware of what's going on and be focusing. Therefore se thinks that you dont need flash.

I mean this is just speculation but no ine else gave you an answer.

tldr game is forcing everyone to learn their class and its limits

I notice this as well level 1-20 it was like 28mp once I started leveling MRD pass that it went up fast now im level 30 it cost 58mp and I can only use it like two or three times back to back. I hoping its just because Im using it as a cross class skill and its not that way with GLA also.

Yeah i also find it odd that the mp costs increase as you level up, never understood that mechanic.

Unless our mp never went up, we'd have infinite mana pretty much given how low the costs start.

Because it gets stronger as you level up, so it takes more MP.

The problem is how we look at the ability, because it says cost 18 MP we 'assume' it costs just 18 MP. What is really going on behind the scene is at level A you have a base of B resource and ability C costs D percentage of your resource pool to cast.

What this means is in a fight you can cast Flash let's say 3 times. As you gain more mana you don't get to cast Flash more than you used to. The mechanics are based on learning your class, understanding the abilities, and using your limited resources to the maximum values to complete the objective (Kill the enemy). If this mechanic did not exist you could in theory cast an infinite amount of times if you had the resource pool to accommodate as such. This is also why we have diminishing returns as GLA can recover MP and in theory cast Flash forever but as you cast each flash you will notice it lasts less time and eventually starts to have 'no effect'.

This allows for better more challenging content and reduces what I would call the WoW problem of scaling and having to reinvent the game every expansion pack as they were unable to foresee that a 10% increase to X ability could scale to insane values over time or changes to stat allocation or level caps.

Funnier, at low levels, raise can cost more mp than some jobs have.

If you're regularly running out of mp on mrd/war, you probably need to adjust your playstyle. Start the fight using flash to pick everything up, since it's aoe and not conal, and then immediately line things up for overpower once or twice. If you have a blm sleeping things, they're a gift because noone generates enmity on slept targets, except with spells like flash, so you you just aim your overpowers better, if you choose to use them, or just single target til sleep is wearing off. (Sleep lasts 30 seconds, then 15, then 7, so after about 45 seconds, you're safe to use overpowers religiously for a bit.

Healers will generate enmity on slept targets, if you don't keep flashing as a mara during a pull with a slept target you'll lose enmity on that mob and it'll go straight to the healer when it's broken.

Healers generate enmity split between every single mob.
