So based on observations from the past couple days, I've noticed what seems to be changes in how dungeon loot is handled. One of them is a pain, and I'd like to know if the other is accurate.
First observation is that is seems they've nerfed the boss drops in some dungeons from dropping greens to only having a slight chance at green drops. I noticed this first in Halatali. When I asked my LS, they said bosses always dropped pinks, but I know this to be false. I know this because when I ran Halatali during EA and at launch, greens dropped (the doctore set of the dungeon) from bosses and at the end of the dungeon, there was a chance a green weapon would drop.
However, running it the other day on my LNC, I noticed that every boss drop was pink and there was only 1 green (a weap at the final boss) to be seen.
I also noticed the same in Brayflox. Each boss used to drop a green from 1 of 3 sets (battle mage, infantry, cavalry (sp?)). However, there was but 1 green aside from the end boss that was in one of the 3 boss chests. Everything was pink.
That is merely an observation. If it is accurate that they nerfed boss chest drops for man-story dungeons (Side dungeons fit into the dropping pinks most of the time) , it would be a bit disheartening that they did it.
The annoying thing I noticed is the change to needing and greeding that they've done on certain items.
I hadn't taken notice before since I was on a magic class, but in brayflox, I noticed that certain items that could be needed by a LNC/DRG could no longer be needed.
I'm talking about the aetherial gear that is designated for gld/pld/mrd/war/lnc/drg. It showed that my class was capable of having it, as it was in the class req list. Right level, right class, right stats, and yet only the tank could need it. If a piece is gear is going to be designated in specific for certain jobs/classes, it'd make sense for those specific classes/jobs to be able to have a chance at needing them. Since I rely heavily on dungeon loot for gearing my drg, when I see something it can wear I hope to have a chance at getting it so I'm not running around in lv 20 ish pieces.
I don't know what made them to decide to change gear like that from needable to greedable unless you're a tank, but it frustrates the hell out of me when i lose decent gear to a class that did not need it in the first place (i say that because the aetherial spiked steel greaves that dropped were inferior to the green footwear that the tank had) due in part to the fact that they made a class that could need those items no longer able to do so.
