Not being able to target and cure during Raise is stupid. It's not like that would make raise OP.
If they can take damage, I should be able to prevent it.

Most other MMOs I've played have a short window of invincibility as you just get raised, this a very logical way of allowing the newly raised person get back in the fight, and we're talking of a 1-2 second window here, nothing major.
Especialy in XIV where you first get an unexplained and uneccessary loading screen as you get raised, and as if being disorientated after that wasn't enough, you are unable to move and will die from the slighest bit of damage thrown your way.
With animation lock being removed for most actions in 2.0 I can't understand why there is no invurnability frames for the raise animation, this needs to be looked into by the devs for sure.
Either add a couple seconds of invincibility as you get raised, remove the loading screen/animation lock as you accept a raise, or a combination of the two.

As an aside to this, I've noticed a lot of healers using Raise while standing in silly places. Since the target of Raise teleports to where the mage was when the spell was cast, it would serve them better to move to a relatively safer location for the job. As a White Mage myself it pains me that I need to remind my fellow healers to watch their positioning, but it still happens.
I do agree though, the Raise delay can be a real pain. It does make you think twice about casting Raise, but not always in a good way.

People raising... for the love of the twelve... AFTER you raise someone, please move a decent distance away from that spot. If you become the target of an AoE when your raised party member decides to raise, you are going to be the reason they die. (Example: Hydra, Chimera, Ifrit, etc)
