main scenario glitch

after compleating "The Lominsan Envoy" the subsequent quest 'Call of the Sea (Limsa Lominsa)" does not apear as it should. i should be able to access it by talking to baderon but i only get the default NPC text from him.

i have had this problem before with the Blacksmith quests in 2011 and they didnt resolve over the next 2 years. me not being able to start the next quest means i won't be able to finish the main scenario. this also means i can't join a GC and all the GC gear i worked to get in 1.0 is useless because i cant equip it. and i believe this also means i cant do some primals or dungeons.

this issue has persisted for about 2 weeks and i have logged in/out quite a bit since then. my computer is an ASUS CM6850 with an NVidia GTX 560ti graphics card. i don't believe the issue lays with my computer but instead is on the server side of the system.

i talked to a GM and he told m to come to this forum instead of asking him, this looks like just user's helping users to me instead of SE helping users

Not sure if it matters or not, but it may have a sub requirement of having progressed through the class quests of whatever class you started the game with past to a certain point.

I'm just reaching for straws here. If that doesn't work then I'd say you have a legitimate problem with your character.

Yeah I would be interested to see what level your DOW or DOM classes are...can you beat this game just playing a crafting class??....I did not think you could...not sure though...that is not the problem I just looked and you are level 50 tank...this is weird...I bet there is somehting you did not fully do yet...have your tried finishing off everything in your journal and maybe you just missed something that you forgot about???

EDIT: You may have to give in and look up the main story progress chain on line and go step by step and ensure you have them all done in order. I missed a step one time and got stuck because I forgot to go back a talk to this merchant...I thought I had done it and totally forgot about it. Hope this helps you out.

well i think maybe the GM accidently told me to go here instead of in-game bug reports. bleh accidents happen.

but yeah this isnt how it should work, if you look up about the main scenario quests the "call of the Sea" should be availible right after you finish "the lominsan envoy"

i only have two things in my journal, a BSM quest i'm working on (maybe BSM quests are cursed) and a BSM levequest that i havent thrown away yet since i got 50.

but thanks for your guys's conscern. i'll just put a post in the in-game bugs section.

One of the level 14 quests tells you to go talk to someone, but doesn't actually put a quest up. I'll check my screenshots...


Yeah, notice there's no quest listed but there is a quest marker on the map when zoomed in all the way. At level 15. If you've zoomed out your map, this marker is hidden by the chocobo hut image or something. All I remember is that you're told by the Adventurer's guild to go talk to someone, but that doesn't put a quest up.

no there is no marker i already looked everywhere for a marker, i know the NPC i need to talk to (Baderon) and i know he gives the quest but something has gotten bungled and the servers dont give me the option of getting the quest.
