This is how it would read if "fixed"
only 8 leves can be taking by an sdventurer every 36 hours (earth time). << that is a tad to much text amd kinda pulls out of the game a bit.
Like I said npc run on game time. And will pull out vague responses. And infact it doesn't flout out say 8 leves at a time. What the npc is basically saying only 8 leves per adventurer. It isn't ment to say the cool down.
Fail logic is fail. This isn't about grammar, it's about the fact that "at a time" means "in a single instant" or "simultaneously." That is not the same thing as "every 36 hours." It doesn't need to say "every 36 earth hours" and ruin your precious immersion, it just needs to not be wrong. Because "at a time" is misinformation, and it's also a logical fail if you look at the screenshot.some stuff to point out. NPC run on game time not earth time.
So saying "at a Time" for an npc is correct. A simple /clock check or looking up on the lodestone you woulda found out that info. Also got to understand the npc dialog is translated in various languages and mistakes tend to happen.
But ya i agree with the poster your being a grammar natzi and letting the game bug you too much.
judging by your failed art work, iwhat I said was confirmed
Art is art. This is a forum, which contains forum posts, so if you're trying to burn me, you're going to have to try harder. Come on, I double dog dare ya! ;--) At least one person musta got a chuckle because they thumbs upped it, which makes it all worthwhile.

No, your acting like a typical forum troll. Your causing a ruckus over npc speak. Your also taking what npc says to literally. Not the writers fault. Play any mmo or video game and npc speak in vague terms.
You took what the npc said to literally. That is your issue. The way you want it writed will not make sence for the game. Also the way your reading it is incorrect. They wrote it the short way, so it is easy to understand across all laguages. Like you can only hold 20 apples at a time. Meaning when you go to pick up apples you can only hold 20.
The npc is saying when you do levequests you can only hold 8 guildleve at a time. Guildleve are the stainglass cards you see like the opening intro. Which is also kind og why they do not dissappear when completed.
Also your are and attitude somewhat screams over hyper highschool student. And one who don't know npc speak from video games.
So there is nothing missinforing with what the noc is saying. I understood what it meant. I suggest rereading it.
Also "at a time" don't also mean the way you think your assuming it does.
Well excyuuuuse me! You sure showed me!
(Actually I lied, tl;dr.)
Ya I figured your just a child. You do not undersrand the Various ways "at a time" can be used, or never paid attention in school. Also it isn't a bug. Guildleves are items. Just go to the counter and exchange them out when you get new ones. I'm trying to help you out not flame you. If your gonna act like a spoiled child, then no one will really care what you have to say.
Further examples of "at a time". You go to a a movie rental place, and you can only rent out 3 movies at a time. Meaning WHEN you rent you rent out movies you can only get 3. Or watch the discovery channel and learn that Lionness give birth to 2-3 cubs at a time. Meaning WHEN they give birth to babies they typicaly only have 2-3.
The phrase "at a time" also means with in the moment. That cookie example you gave was wrong also. You only was going to give him * at a time. Meaning when you wanted ti give him cookies he can only get 8.
You can get on his case, but I agree what the NPC says is inaccurate.
It leads you to believe false information.
If you know how leves work then it doesn't matter. You auto-correct in your head.
If you don't know how leves work, well you'll be confused until you do learn.
The NPC should state you can only do 8 leves per whatever in-game time the cycle runs on, or break the fourth wall and explain it properly, or not mention "8" at all but say you simply need to wait for more leves to become available because you've done as many as you can do at that time.
Grammar Nazi or not, it's false information.
There's no need to overstate. It's as simple as this.
I say to you, "You can only have 1 active quest at a time."
Do you then think:
A. "I can have 1 quest active at a time, so once I finish it I can pick up a new quest."
B. "I can have 1 quest active at a time, so once I finish it I must wait for some undisclosed timer to run out before I can pick up a new quest."
If you are picking "B" I'm not sure where you learned English, but it probably isn't the same place as me (or the OP). Knowing that leves are on a timer ahead of time is great, but it doesn't mean the NPC should assume you know that. Once you complete and turn in a Local Leve it is removed from your log and thus you "don't have it" any longer. It's not as clear as Regionals which you do retain in your log.
To the OP, though - Just because you're right doesn't mean you should talk down to people. It's causing this thread to turn into a "we hate Grammar Nazi, even when he's not correcting us personally" instead of what it should be - making the game text clear and accurate to reflect the game mechanics (preferably without breaking the 4th wall). There is also an NPC somewhere in Gridania, I think in the back of the archers guild or the carpenters guild, that uses the word "gaol" which reminds me of Oscar Wilde, who had a particularly abrasive fixation on colors, so "gaol" is a bad word for me, fix that too please. It's very random and out of place anyway and I bet the better half of players don't have the slightest clue what a gaol is or how to say it.
Gaol, for example, doesn't seem to be liked by my auto-spell check but it's a word and you can look it up in the dictionary. Anyone who doesn't know what a word means that happens to be the subject of a sentence or paragraph should probably look it up if they don't know. Google will tell you right quick. It's archaic, but they used in in XI so no reason not to use it in XIV, I guess.
Also your later use of "TL;DR" is pretty ... rude considering you wrote a pretty TL;DR post or two yourself.
If you want to make clear and succinct points, try to be less condescending.
