I know the AFK problem seems to be getting worse. I have yet to encounter it, but I understand why players do this, and why it's bad for the game. I know SE plans on putting in some kind of upvote positive rep system. Yet, it probably won't be enough. We need a new approach.

This isn't about being viable, this is about an idea. I'm not a coder, or a database guru, but I do understand some programming in general. (Which means absolutely nothing really.)

The idea is simple.

1. Implement a Kick Feature: Simple and effective. I doubt it will be abused, but this is all on SE and how they implement it. Once in, if you can't get them out, the AFKers win. I played SWTOR for a long time, lots of cut scenes, but players dealt with it.

2. If kicked/reported provide a player repuation system: I assume this would work a lot like Xbox Live, where you have stars or something. The more you get reported, the less likely you will be able to find a DF group. Yes, actually put low rep people at the end of the DF list so it's hard for them to use it.

3. Expand the player rep system to a FC rep system: Make the FC have a rep system as well, which reflects their members. Allow the leaders to check and see who is being a negative impact on the community. This way, every FC would police these people themselves.

I really think when a player has a bad rep, FC will shy away from them, making it harder to group. This will re-enforce good player behavior. If you have a community problem, the only answer honestly, is for the community to take action. SE give us the tools to do so.
