Dear AFK dude in Castrum

It was actually pretty easy to put your name in the lodestone, find your free company, and pass a message along to your Free Company that you earn your tomestones by putting people on follow and going afk in Castrum.

I thought about just putting a screen shot and a link to your Free Company's roster in General, and maybe next time I will.

The sad thing was that this guy was on Scholar so we couldn't even complete the dungeon because the other healer couldn't keep up without pulling too much hate. (We had two warrior tanks.) After two wipes on the 2nd boss, we all decided to leave. I'm kind of glad because even if we had kept at it and pushed through, dude would have been able to come back and just walk through to the exit.

I've solo healed CM at least three times now as a WHM. I've had WAR/PLD, PLD/PLD and WAR/WAR as tanks and each time it was just fine. The first time it happened my group wanted to quit after waiting 25 minutes for a replacement and I had to talk them into at least trying since our only options were, obviously, to try or leave. I guess that's not all totally relevant but solo healing CM can definitely be done and easily at that.

I've seen this AFK non-sense in other MMORPGs with the same frustrated customers sharing their AFK stories in the forums. IMHO the only way to solve this is to have game auto-kick the AFKer if they aren't receiving damage, dishing out damage or healing in a consistent manner compared to the rest of the party. I like the ability to boot or vote-to-boot but I can see how that can be abused.

What's frustrating for me is that afk leeching isn't even that rare anymore, nor does it seem to be particularly isolated. At one point I even had a tank doing it. I've had terrible luck with CM on DF, about 1/3 of my parties have someone afk for the stones. I wish the best to you guys, for my luck has certainly been horrible.

yeah ppl are doing it because , there is nothing u can do to stop them

why farm castrum for 10000th time when u can go afk and let others do the work?

the fun begins when there are 2 AFK ~~ , hell even if 1 is afk , tanks usually bail dont want to tank a instance for some1 that is afk.....and back to queue

i avoid DF castrum like the plague now , no point in using DF anymore for it .

Just walk them into monsters and kill them. then the person they were following returns to the start and you go on your way.
