A solution for fixing speed runners in CM and Prae that tell everyone to skip CS.

it's just screwed up

your mixing people that probably hate the instance and are just doing it for the tomes since the 2 story dungeons are the only efficient source with people that want to watch several cutscenes that aren't automated and sometimes keeps them afk for more than half the instance

and now people are saying forcing that mix is actually a good option? It's two groups that are polar opposites and will clash for sure and the speed runners will not wait for those watching cutscenes. Is it really a fun dungeon for people doing the story to just get hit with a queue of cutscenes and never actually explore the place between them?

Why do people do Speed Run anyway when they use Duty Finder? 90% you don't get what you want and there always people that are new to doing it. Please if you want to do speed run next time don't use the Duty Finder and do it with your Friends or FC. I haven't run this Dungeon yet, but I'm hearing a lot of bad thing this speed runner already.

Its all how people present themselves, I havent seen things excalate when someone asks politely to skip or explains its their first time.
Ive only seen it escalate when someone asked politely to skip and the 1st timer trew a tantum out of the blue.
But thats my limited experiance.

the game pretty much indoctrinates it's users that to do something you use duty finder.
the last two story dungeons are by a wide margin the best source of tomestones of philosophy so people will want to do them over and over
at the same time those dungeons hit you with a cutscene like every 5 steps
so you have people conditioned to always use duty finder and the vast majority of them want nothing to do with the story part while at the same time the story is all available to read and watch whenever you want in your inn room giving them a good excuse to use when asking to skip them

hence the whole split it into 2, you can get a slow queue for a version that forces the story or a fast queue with the story cut out and just enjoy the story at your own pace on your own time without screwing with other people's enjoyment of the game

On the other side i told you my experience :
on every run (im going with friends usualy 4/8 or 5/8) I post my macro where i politely ask if ppl can skip cutscenes and watch them at inn. Now there are two kind of peoples
1. reasonable : say he/she is there first time and would like to watch cut scenes and do it with moderate time then we had no problems to wait
2. silent ignorant : dont say a signle thing (usualy guy with French client, sorry but harsh truth) and wait around 5-6 min on first cutscene, at this point we just run throught dungen and finish bosses before this guy/s even start notice something.

Castrum is super easy for an 8 man dungeon. I think it shouldn't reward 100 tomes. maybe 50-60 will be alright.

Regarding getting help for a story only, 8 man dungeon at 50. Yeah that is an issue. Not so much now but in a few months time when the population tapers off a bit. You do have to question if making them 8 man dungeons was a good choice. Take into consideration that Castrum might not have the same draw for farming after the 2.1 patch, and it's easy to see that there will be a lot less people in DF for it. This has always been the case with progress in MMO's though (particularly true in XI), it's always a good idea to get through story as soon as you can, because willing bodies dry up over time.

As it stands at the moment though, some middle ground probably needs to be found where CM isn't the fastest farm for people. Given what SE did with AK, I wouldn't be surprised if they adjusted CM with the next content update.

The default setting is to watch the cutscenes. Therefore, if you use the DF, you should expect to have to wait. If you want to speed-run, get 7 friends together or shout locally for a group, and speed run the thing as many times as you can stand.

And In B4 "You have no valid opinion until you're 50," because I can count the number of times I have run any instance from the DF on 1 hand - that's one of the reasons I joined an FC.

@OP: Why do you come to a thread to start up garbage about a run you can't even make yourself? Experience is the best teacher and it seems you have none at CM. You could have left this for feedback section. Anyway the only 2 dungeons besides AK to farm stones for lvl 50's efficiently is Prat and CM. WE have no other choice right now. Skipping CS's does not auto make it a speed run. Still takes the required time to down the mobs. AK was nerfed because people were ignoring what SE I suppose considers to be key mobs in a dungeon. This is so much troll trash I hope this thread burns to death.
