    Pre-ARR toto-rak and its music!

I really really really really hope they bring back this style of background music i.e. a theme song that runs through the dungeon, and battle theme that corresponds with it. The current ambient way of doing it i.e. music only at the beginning and ambient noise for the rest of the run is really not very appealing T_T

While I wouldn't care for that specific music, I'd sure like a looping track instead of the "stinger" track at the beginning and then just ordniary battle music after that.

For a specific instance; Haukke manor would be GREATLY enhanced if that haunted house type music played through the whole thing.

Yeah I miss the old 1.0 dungeon tunes too. Was kinda neat that Toto and Darkhold in 2.0 have a section of the music from 1.0 in the beginning.

No way, the music in 1.0 was terrible. Having it ambient is quite nice.

Copperbell Mines, Haukke Manor, Brayflox, Cutter's Cry, Stone Vigil, Darkhold all have amazing soundtracks... not looping it, or at least the option to do so, is just SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO annoying

Yeah, we get it, bashing 1.0 (without even having played it, judging by your join date) makes you a cool kid and all that. That dungeon music actually did sound like something out of a Final Fantasy. How dare Uematsu! Away with that crap!

Aaanyway, I do miss it as well. I especially liked how it would smoothly transition between idle and battle music, too. That was a pretty nice touch. Having music only for the first 30 seconds of a dungeon is kinda lame. I'm also not much of a fan of the new "generic" boss theme used for most dungeon bosses.

The problem was that it was the only dungeon music in 1.0
Toto-Rak, Dzemael, Aurum Vale, Cutters Cry. Everytime the same music.

ya we know tbey all sounded the same, that's why I said I wished they would bring back the 'style' of the music.

music has always been a big part of FF for many of its fans. we may jave outgrown the games, but never the songs. Yes there were instances where ambient sound was used instead of a background music in various instalments, but not as rampant as ARR.

Initially I was not very fond of having so much ambient sound when exploring the open world but it got better after a while as the songs do return just when we start wondering where they went. However, I cant say thr same for dungeons, and I'm sure i'm not alone in this, especially when many of the tracks sound absolutely amazing.

Nah... Looping tracks for dungeons are no good. Especially when it comes to the point where you're running the same dungeon over and over, or if the same music is heard constantly. It's bad enough that the battle music remains the same throughout most of the game.

Still not as bad or clunky as the old combat system though... Can understand why they pulled Ver 1.

This just made me miss 1.0. Those movement animations! Those beautiful action icons! Even some of the old UI!

I guess, if you spend two years with something, you can't help but fall in love with certain aspects.
