    White Blocks - Graphic Glitch

Ok guys, I've had this problem since beta. Some days it's worse than others, but it is a daily occurrence.

Basically, every single graphics effect in the game will turn into a white block. It ranges from provoking effects to simple attack sparks after hitting the mob. This happens close up, far away, while there are weather effects, and when there are no weather effects.

Here are a few pictures of the provoke white blocks:

    (Links are from Photobucket)

http://s1090.photobucket.com/albums/...iteblocks2.jpg <-- shows the best white blocks

    http://s1090.photobucket.com/albums/...iteblocks3.jpg

    Here are my computer's specs:

(The glitch occurred with both video cards at any temperature.)
    Video Cards:
Current: ATI 5850 (This card was also tested on a similar spec'd computer without any of the white blocks)
    Old: Nvidia GTX 9800
    Drivers: Up to date
    Motherboard: Asus
    Power Supply: 550watt
    CPU: Quad Core 2.4
    Ram: 4gigs
    OS: Windows 7 64bit

    Here are my game settings:

    Windowed 1680x1050,
    Multisampling 2xMSAA,
    General Drawing Quality 8 (Standard),
    Background Drawing Quality 4,
    Shadow Detail Highest,
    Texture Quality High,
    Texture Filtering Highest.

    Extra Graphics Info:

    FPS: 30-60
    Temp: Idle 39-50C, In-Game: 65-70C

If you need any additional information, please let me know and I will post it up.

Thanks for the automatic response. I answered most of these questions, and have followed plenty of the guidelines unless you simply did not read my post. I'll be sure to give you some more time to give me another automatic response by following your guidelines.

Also, I have seen plenty of other posts here that have not given half the information you've requested. Should probably go and post for them too! ^^b

    Thanks again!

    Hi,

Wow you've got a strange problem on your hands. I don't know which or if you've changed graphics settings in the FF XIV Config tool but I suggest you try out the following:

    Under Video Settings tab:

    - Set Multisampling on No AA

    - Set General Drawing Quality on Lowest

    - Set Background Drawing Quality on Low

    - Set Shadow Detail on Lowest

    Under Graphics tab:

Make sure every checkbox under this tab, except "Enable Hardware mouse cursor" is unchecked.

    Furthermore:

    - Set Texture Quality on Low
    - Set Texture Filtering on Low

    Under Font Settings:

Make sure the "Use Windows system font checkbox is unchecked. It maybe strange that I ask you this cause this may not seem to have anything to do with the font settings. But I just want to make sure it's not related to the problem.

Now play the game and let me know if there is any change at all.

    Hey there LittleArrow!

Sorry to hear you've been having that problem since Beta. We appreciate you contacting us back so quickly with a response. Since you've taken several steps to ensure it's not the graphic card, we'll gladly forward the concern to be looked into. If there are any updates on the matter, it will be posted within the forum. Thanks for posting!
