Hurray for more NA bashing. I don't mind partying with anyone but seriously I've run in to just as many bad English speaking players as I have bad Japanese speaking players. The only difference is I can actually talk to the bad English speaking where as I end up pulling my hair out trying to explain something to Japanese with auto translate. Then you have those truly magical horrible players who don't speak at all. They act as if they're not being addressed and never make an attempt to try to communicate.

Granted I always do see the Japanese saying things such as the OP mentioned. I just usually do the standard Hello! Nice to meet you. Because it's rude not to say anything when someone is being polite and that is what I'm limited to with the current options.

On the other hand I see plenty of English speaking players who say hello albeit in different terms but it's not nearly as bad as all the complainers on this forum would have you believe. If we fail a dungeon or for example we failed Garuda last night repeatedly. The DD's simply could not get her down fast enough and failed to do a limit break the one time we would have won it. Sure I was frustrated. However I was not rude and wished them well on future attempts. No one rage quit. No one bashed anyone.

The Japanese we tried to do it with however did just about as well. Probably would have won if the black mage would've followed suit and dps'd the adds. After trying to explain it the best we could countless times we gave up. It just wasn't helping. Nothing changed and we kept wiping while trying to hide behind the stones in that final stage. I did leave rather abruptly without saying anything. In retrospect I probably should not have because that's not how I normally do things but at the same time I feel that the Japanese player who did know the fight should have been doing more to explain it the other what they were doing wrong. I didn't feel that they were incapable but the lack of communication in this game seriously hindered that fight. I basically left over frustration. Not anger.

I enjoy playing with Japanese players and I appreciate their manners. I remember running parties with them many times on XI and having very good parties. I remember a lot of the same from the English side as well. It just depends on your luck which you get. Not on the culture. In XI though, you knew who was good and who was not. That was the beauty of finding parties on your server only. No one does this any more unless you're part of a FC or get a decent pick up group through shout.

I will be moving From Masamune to a non Legacy NA server soon but in the future hopefully they will implement a wider range of communication options with Japanese players. Then I might not feel so inclined to queue for English only.

I do agree with many on one point. It's not ALL NA players being rude or refusing to work together as a team. They come in all shapes and sizes and the bashing of NA/EU players on the forums really needs to stop. Sowing further dissent and driving a wedge between the community is not the way to handle it.
