I wrote " (...) most important international language for both business and academia", at which point did I state that is the most important language for academia in Japan?Being a foreigner in Japan for almost 4 years now I can assure you it is not a myth unfortunately
And on the other side, if you could read Japanese, you would see that on the Japanese boards they are having the same discussion
most of the post in the topic are about players wishing they could speak english more to play with other players
and important language for academia in Japan? let me laugh! I have Japanese english teachers asking me for advice... and english is not even my first language...
even in my company, my direct boss from the "international team" does not speak english
(...)
It's pretty much about the culture. The western side of the world has become one spoiled bunch of kids tbh.
Something went wrong? -> Never my fault, I AM LEET, let's blame someone else!
Sometimes being helpful can be seen negatively, it's all on the perspective of the individual.
You could try to help those who you think are making mistakes, but they could find it offensive because you are intruding on their inner sanctum of self-confidence. You could call those people arrogant but they think you're the same. In the end, people stopped caring instead they all think for themselves.
This could be one of the reason what makes this community so vile.
I'm with you OP. It was no hard decision to chose a JP server to transfer to before phase 4. The the first parties for titan all the way up to the one we finally killed it with did not rage at deaths nor point blame. If anyone was doing anything wrong, they just pointed it out. Helped me figure out titans pattern too, and got me using sacred soil at the last phase. We killed it and everyone told me good job on the sacred soils. Fun times, no harsh times.
Was the same for duty finder dungeons and fights, but of course titan fights always failed for DF :P

Hey please check out a post I made specifically about this subject from my perspective and let me know what you think. I totally agree with you on this.

these threads that overly generalize JP/NA cultures flaws and strengths are totally nonsensical.
not every american, NA/EU is a jerkass with a temper tantrum
not is a every JP person is a super polite never be rude saint. this is really what wrong with the world today, people making idiotic generalization based on stereotypes and apply said type to everyone.
I was a fake JP back in the XI days. I had a JP search comment macroed, when I joined a party, I /p'ed Yoroshiku, and stayed silent after that.INDEED

Why did I do this? It's true that not all NA players are idiots and not all JP players are godlike. However, there's something called a "trend" that I noticed among NA players. That trend was that NAs tended towards idiocy, selfishness, individual "me me me"ism and all around mediocrity, and JPs tended toward collectivism, efficiency, and teamwork to actually get stuff done. This translated into a higher XP/hour rate. In all my years of partying, I blacklisted one JP and many many MANY NAs for playing like idiots.

If were sharing experience's with JP players let me share mine:
Standing around shouting for a group, my answer after over an hour?
.................................................................Nothing.
Standing around asking for help, my answer after an hour and a half?
.................................................................Nothing.
From my experience on my JP server, seems like when you want to group or need help a whole lot of nothing happens and you're simply on your own.
It's why I've been stuck using the DF for 2 weeks now for Titan HM, cause no matter how you shout or when you shout nothing happens.
I've even had a DF group quit on me stating they didnt want to play with me because I'm American.
My experiences so far. The server was better in 1.0 when it was Eng/JP mixed. At least then everyone didn't seem to feel that their servers were meant for only one spoken language.
because it's based on our own experience?INDEED

if you had 100x DF runs with NA and 100x runs with JP, you'll understand the differences
of course it's not for everyone, no one is saying that
but based on my own experience, i can say that JP community is better than NA
