    I believe this was mentioned that SE would support third party add-ons. Has there been any new news on this?

    you can make your own mods now

    google ffxiv-app, and you can start making your own now. nothing has been made yet that is popular enough to go mainstream, tho it only works on pc. disadvantage for ps3 players.
