    Cancel Service, Resume Later?

    How does SE handle accounts that do not sub or cancel a sub. How long do my characters and account information stay accessible if/when I consider re-subbing?

    90K is just making this unplayable and I want to wait to sub now and see that it's fixed before I do.

    Common practice is infinite. You can freeze your account and come back in a year in which time I hope they will fix lag, have EU servers in Europe etc. ATM it is not worth monthly fee.

    I don't think that's for you to decide for all of us, if you don't want to subscribe then don't but don't go around telling everyone on the forum because we don't really care

    personally I love the game and already paid for several months

    the answer your question, probably a year maybe 2

    Oh, you care and I don't suggest to anyone to cancel sub. I as you, have just wrote my personal opinion. I don't really care if you don't have standards, it's your (I hope) hard earned money.

    Guess I don't have any standards either. I signed up for a 6 month sub and dont have a single regret. Just because you and others are getting lag doesn't mean the other 600,000 + people across the globe are as well. Maybe this concept is too much for you so i assume you'll come back with some other insult like you did with MisaCeliousa instead of a well thought out rebuttal

    The game needs work...Can't think of a single MMo that has been released that didn't need work ..some needed more and some needed less..but none were perfect launches and many had issues lasting many months to a year+ before they were fixed. Have you tried a traceroute to see if you have a bad hop to the server? ..or did you hop right in and just start making accusations. It might be a common bad node many people are being routed through thats causing some of the issues with lag in Europe..there are many reasons for lag to appear and not just >>> point finger ..their fault ..RAGE!! I play on 3 different systems using 3 different methods of connecting ..Home system is on a 50mb down 5 up connection with no lag, Office is a 5mb down 512kb/s up with no lag....i also play on my laptop when travelling on a 4g lte network across many locations in Canada and the U.S in the last few weeks and no lag as of yet. I have many guild mates that are in various places across Europe from U.K to Germany, Ireland, Asia, Australia and other countries and they have no lag either. Not saying its not happening because it is but it certainly isn't this massive global issue affecting all the servers in all countries.

    I live in the UK and I'm playing on an NA designated server and I have no problems with the latency. It's within expected margin for an Internet game and hasn't stopped me playing. Basically, if you see a red AoE, move straight away and you'll avoid them all. Since I'm a 1.0 account my free time has run out and I've already paid for 6 months. I don't regret it at all.

    To original poster: Yes you can cancel and resume again in the future. With FFXI originally they deleted characters after ~90 days, but they stopped doing that, most likely because people were unlikely to ever play again if they had to start from scratch (no chance of money for them!) and data storage of such tiny amounts is rather cheap.

    As you said, "The game needs work" and until then for me and other with normal or at least some standards like... I don`t know... talking to NPC while mounted, standard stuff like that, it is not worth monthly fee. I don`t even want to mention no GM, boting, RMT etc.
