Max DPS Rotation for bard ~ Titan Issue

For some reason Ive been going under 100 DPS in TITAN. I'm Full Darklight, with a tox ring, and ifrit bow. Not the best but not the worst. I've been scrubbing it no matter what rotation I try and looking really bad.

    What I was using was:

Raging Strike > Hawks Eye > Internal Release

Then DPS > Bloodletter, Venom, Windbite, Straight shot. Refreshing wind & venom on boss as it got low (3-4sec)

Refreshing Rage, hawk, and internal as they lit.

So then I looked up a macro and tried this:

    Rage, Hawks, Internal.

Heavy > Straight > Bloodletter whever available) Venom, Wind *When low*

Refreshing Rage hawk and internal when they light up.

Im smacking my head on the table now on what Im doing wrong.

Is the WHM using Esuna? Titan does a debuff which lowers DET, which means lower DPS. It happens when that person gets trapped in the rocks.

If that's all you've been doing then yes a healer isn't dispelling you and probably not other dps if some are only doing 20 dps more. Think my groups average was around 160-210 for each dps and if one of us got hit with the tombstone then it dropped by about half until we were dispelled. If they haven't been(which sounds like it) let your heals know that the determination down debuff(which reduces dmg by about half) is always put on the player that gets put into a tombstone, they need to dispel as soon as that person gets broke out.

I stick to my Misery's End > Bloodletter > Heavy Shot macro and keep the rest to manual use.. I find I spam that button a lot.. it definitely helps to not have to look at all of that constantly.

As for a rotation, It's similar of course but I usually start off with Straight shot + tap of my macro to set off Bloodletter> both dots > spam macro. I try to use barrage at the same time as hawk eye, they both have similar buff timers. I do not waste my buffs at the start of a fight (before I start even doing dmg) as every second counts. I use them between my initial shots. Usually in the order of Internal > Raging > Hawk > Barrage.. this way barrage is getting the maximum effect of the other buffs. Later on I use them as they come up unless it's a fight where I really want those buffs to take down adds quickly.. in which case I wont worry about maximizing my dps as much as just to kill the adds quickly. I usually try to maximize things like this, and I like it.

Level up lancer to 34 for Blood for Blood (extra 20% dmg but you take more damage, not to use after p1)

    You are forgetting Barrage.
Also make sure you cast your buff BEFORE your dot (this has the most impact on DPS). Don't refresh time until they are expired.
Always use heavy shot over Blood Letter. Only use Blood Letter as a filler between GCD.
Don't use mana song - It should not be needed except in late p3. Foe Requiem +Battle voice on p2 (heart phase)
Make sure you are being cured after being release from cage (you get a damage debuff)

Well, I can right away see that your rotation is a little bit off and let me tell you why. The only buff you should ever prebuff before a fight is "Quelling Strike", mainly because your opener if you do it correctly does generate a lot of enmity, so lowering that as much as possible is a good idea. Next skill you want to use after "Quelling Strike" is "Straight Shot", the reason for it is because you get a 10% crit buff for 20 seconds when you use it and that stacks well with what I will explain next. Then you start off with popping "Internal Release", the reason for this is that the main use of this skill is to implement it into your dots ("Windbite", "Venomous Strike") because off your trait (Passive skill that resets "Bloodletter" when 1 of your dots crit). So by using "Straight Shot", "Internal Release", you suddenly have 30% more crit on your dots, which increases the chance for your dots to crit so that you hopefully get a lot of "Bloodletters" going.

After the dots are applied you just spam "Heavy Shot" and use "Bloodletter" whenever it's off cooldown, important that you always keep your "Straight Shot" buff up, reapply your dots, and be ready for whenever your buffs are off cooldown aswell. You should always try to apply dots whenever you pop your "Internal Release" and this is ofcourse for it's 20% crit chance along with your 10% from "Straight Shot" like i mentioned earlier. other than that there is not much to it.

    Quelling Strike-->Straight Shot-->Bloodletter-->Internal Release-->Windbite-->"Buff" (i.e Raging Strike)-->Venomous Strike-->"Buff"-->Heavy Shot-->"Buff"--> Heavy Shot/Bloodletter-->"Buff".

And yeah like I said, worth mentioning due to the importance:

    1. Keep Straight Shot buff up at all times
    2. Keep your dots up and always reapply if you pop "Internal Release"
    3. Use your "Bloodletters" as soon as they are off cooldown

It's not his rotation that's the problem though. He could do nothing more than spam heavy shot and do more dps than he's seeing with the gear that he has.

The issue is baddie healers not dispelling debuffs.

Ah yeah, a lot of healers are actually not aware of it but do let them know, the person that gets the "Granite Gaol" receives a determination debuff which indeed has to be dispelled, otherwise you do suffer from low dps/healing depending on your job.
