after the current update, we cannot update the game after we login into the launcher this error message will show up and it will go back to login page again....

bump... and yes we understand this game is still new....
we better refund.. and go back when everything is fine/stable...

been searching the forum this issue was started 08.28.13

some other are willing to share their boot folder to be able to work some will work some will not.... are we going to keep on posting this issue and ask someone to share their boot folder?

I've got the same problem here. This seems to be happen almost everytime there is an update :S

Same thing for me. This is super frustrating!

Happened the same for the last 3 patches. The last two times I've found someone who zipped and put their ...\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\ folder up on dropbox. Downloaded that and replaced mine and it worked.

I have a feeling something is happening during the update process. It seems to go in two stages. First the launcher is updated. Then when you log in, the game is updated. My gut feeling is that the launcher is not updating a file somewhere (due to admin permissions, maybe, or read/write permissions). So when you try to update the game with the launcher there is a mismatch and it fails.

But that's just my guess... Still it puts the launcher in out-of-sync state that we can't recover from...

Is there anyone here willing to share working boot folder? while we are waiting for a solution response, frustration really hit specially if you think that you are going to pay this for monthly...

There are only 2 times i see this.

1. When I am behind a firewall actively blocking packets
   
2. When my patch update was corrupted. only way I know to resolve this is a full game reinstall
