    One With Nature, Transcendance, Etc.

    Would someone kindly explain to me exactly how these work.

    I gather, for example, if I have One with Nature equipped, and I'm another job, the conjury abilities are increased or strengthened, but it's unclear to me how the 'scale' of 'by 10, up to a maximum of 100' works.

    Each job has affinity for another job's abilities, from 0 to 100. Affinity of 0 means you cannot use those abilities. Affinity of >0 to 100 means that the higher affinity, the more closely your recast timers, cast length, and power approximates that of the original job. Conjurer has 100 affinity for conjury skills. I think Thaumaturge has like 70 or 80. Archer has considerably less.

    Therefore, the one with nature ability does not help conjurer, but on every other battle job it decreases conjury timers, speeds up cast of conjury spells, and increases power of conjury spells by effectively 10% relative to a full conjurer.

    Guessing 10% affinity boost. My cure II's on arc give me 312 my friend who doesn't have one with nature gets 270ish.

    Interesting, thaumaturge has more conjurer affinity than archer? I would have thought everything but conjurer would have had the same affinity.

    They all have different affinities. Lancer's got a little higher affinity for magic than the other DoW's.

    Now that all this is out of the way does anyone see a reason for people to waste space with a melee affinity trait on another job? I mean it makes sense for CON to equip transcendance or a THM to equip one with nature due to mage stuff but what about the others? Only thing I am even considering would be MRD trait for the Skull Sunder but seriously, maybe even PUG for more evasion? Any input or feedback would be interesting to note and discuss.

    Overall probably more worth it than 5-point stat converts. As far as them unlocking the usefulness of other jobs' weaponskills, no. Save for a few broken ws like victimize your primary ws will be more effective.
