In an effort to keep this post relative -- I would clarify that the problem from 1.0 I am referring to has been reported by many users and that is the latency/character location issue in battles. It has always been choppy and as a 1.0 player myself I can also say this was my experience.
I can assure you my rose tinted goggles do not exist. The perception of the NA player base (if I was not clear) is that JP players/servers are preferred simply because developer and administrator access to JP servers is obviously local. So what I am stating is that although SE may be upside down on this game at the moment, the company as a whole has the capability of investing in the NA market to make sure the gap is closed in the future.
Invest in your consumers with time, information and assets and your consumers will invest in you.
And in response to the post above, you of course quote my post in context to fit the needs of your reply. I don't feel the need to shine at all, I just waited a long time to play what I knew would be a great game and the experience is waned by a lack of foresight.

I never had this problem in 1.0 and I don't in ARR and by large the issue is only affecting a select group of people - I've ran Ifrit nearly 100 times and Garuda and Titan in the teens, no one I've ran with had these issues. The only time I seen it happen:
Garuda Ports
>Blm stands there, Garuda readies her attack, BLM decides to finally try to hide behind a pillar.
>Blm dies.
>Blm blames latency even though everyone else moved as she ported and didn't get hit.
I am not trying to be argumentative, I am generalizing experiences that I have been reading (lurking) here on the forums for some time now. There is a reason multiple threads on this issue are active today. There is a reason a known P2P/Throttling/Lagging thread is up to 108 pages now. This is not new information and I am not claiming it to be, but mentioning it was simply a part of the big picture in the OP.
If you don't experience these issues, I am happy that you are included in what is considered to be a very lucky minority on the issue.
I do realize the game has been out for one month, I am not harping on that at all. Market analysis, pre-order numbers and the like are a nice way to judge what you are in for. Look at Phase 4/Early Access as an example, one weekend (barely) was not enough time to prepare for the events ahead. We can all admit that. In the end, the success of the game is why it is in the situation it is. I am still subbed (90D) and I will ride it out like I did the first time around.

I can't count the times I remember dying in Ifrit because Eruption lag was so awful, or watching people rubberbanding around despite there being an extremely low amount of players (much lower than right now), or having running and combat feel so damn sluggish in order to hide the terrible server infrastructure and code. It was a serious problem, and while it's better now, it still exists. For instance, it's very hard dodging Titan's plumes during peak hours because you will get hit with a random lag spike or the server won't update your position properly and you'll be out of the plumes — just like any other time — but still get hit.
Whenever a Titan HM group I'm in decides to do the "everyone stack up" method of dodging, I cringe because I know the servers are in no shape to allow that.
