I can't believe FFXIV's one year anniversary is swiftly approaching and all that the development team has manged to do in that one year is shrink the game's potential.

Like Ludicrous above, I used to "know" that this game was going somewhere. But now all I know is that the game is going nowhere. It's going nowhere fast.

If a game is going to have quest hubs, then the game needs to be built from scratch with quest hubs in mind. Such things don't really make much sense in FFXIV since FFXIV isn't a quest-centric game. Tacking it on as an afterthought when more important and attractive features could be worked on instead is just appalling decision making. Like, where does SE get off? Ya know?

Until FFXIV can get over its identity crisis and stop trying to out-WoW WoW, maybe we can get back to Tanaka's original vision and make a good game for change.
